The casual local fan who doesn't frequent the die-hard sites like this is more often than not a Fisher supporter...

I think it's the other way around. Many people near me all seem to believe Fisher is this great football coach. Those who know me, all felt the need to reach out once they learned Vince was out, and all said - "well you still have Fisher" as if that helps. When I pointed out his record, many of them were shocked to find out he was just above .500.

I'm referencing folks in Nashville mainly.. but I think we're basically saying the same thing anyway. The folks who really care - and pay attention have had it with Fish.

I'm with both of yall. @ JC, the same thing happened to me the day it was announced that Vince was gone. My boys were like, that sucks but at least you guys still have Jeff Fisher. Yall will be alright.

@ Cruds, no doubt people who don't follow the team and watch all our games like we do just don't have a clue. All of us who do, all know that Fisher is just not getting it done anymore.

I have to admit I was very pissed off when it broke that Vince was gone. But I now can see the bigger picture here. Fisher might not have had his back and he might not have been Fisher's guy but he should have proved Fisher wrong with his play and leadership. And he failed to do that and instead used that as a cop out as to why he hasn't lived up to expectations.

That said, I am still pissed that Bud didn't just fire Fisher based on his own shortcomings. Fisher is still our coach and I'll be rooting for him to win it all this year and all will be forgiven in my eyes. Anything short of that though, and I'm calling for his head again.

Marcellus Wiley used the term "great" in describing Jeff Fisher in the Vy interview. What part of middle Tn does he live in? Antioch?

I'm pretty real sure Vince and Macellus are pals. Which is why I think he'd have been better off simply NOT doing any interviews. I feel bad for Vince, he can't seem to help himself. Maybe I'm just waaaaaaay way better with my words than Vince, but he's shooting himself in the foot A LOT! No one is going to want to work with the guy who thinks the world should be handed to him. We know he's capable of borderline greatness, but I wish he'd just stop talking. I like him, but jeez.

Handed to him? He simply stated that he would like a chance to compete on a team for the starting job, and would show the coach with his work that he should be the starter. Also unlike fisher he took the high road and said he liked dodger as a coach and was thankful to have worked for him.

I follow Vince very closely, so close to a fault maybe. And I'm telling you and anyone else, the man doesn't want to prove he's a starter if he even is. He laughed when the idea of being a backup was mentioned. He needs to show some humility, and he'll land a job where he's able to compete. I feel he can be this "elite" QB he talks about, but right now he's shown very little to say he is. I'll never fully side with the haters who constantly call him a mental midget or Vince Gump, they're trying to knock him down, but some of their assessment weren't too far off. Vince was one of the greatest QB's coming into the NFL, but while he's been a pro, he hasn't acted like it. Half the mess he says, I wouldn't have said in high school. And trust me, I've seen some Fisher's coaching high school football, and I hated them when I was forced to play for them. But I never blew up like Vince has.

This has nothing to do with football, but does prove my point on Vince needing to show some humility. Once upon a time I had a NASCAR driver living inside me LOL, I was averaging 3 speeding tickets a month, for 2 years. I had to pay thousands in fines, and was forced into several driving programs, as well as community service. I accepted that in lieu of prison. When it came time to show the judge I had completed all of that, he noticed I had thanked the DA for the break, and was impressed I tacked on hours to the community service. He asked me why I would choose to do that, I told him the programs were making me a safer driver, and smarter citizen, and 200 hours wouldn't teach me the lesson I needed to learn. The guy was amazed a 21 year old thought this way, and cut the fines down to the fines minus court costs, and allowed me to keep my license. I'm almost certain if I hadn't made a complete 180, he would have taken my license forever.

The best thing Vince Young can do is to take a step back, and see himself from another perspective.
