Playoff "bye weeks" are overrated.

I really think it's a disadvantage IF you get to the SB with it.

You play 16 games in 17 weeks...

    ...then 2 in 4?

I HATE the bye week between the conference championship game and the Super Bowl.

BUT HAY THE PRO BOWL MATTERS!1!!!1!1!

there's always been a bye between the conference championships and the super bowl, that has nothing to do with the pro bowl

I do not really think it matters that much.

I do lean to the side that says it helps a team somewhat in that they have to play the wild card game.

However, I figured the Ravens would have been much hotter than they were against the Steelers.

Not always, they did play without it once, and I thought it was much better.

Except for sometime in the early part of the 2000's, which is what I was talking about. I liked those two a lot better.

it allowes your team to rest up and heal but it kills your momentum going into the playoffs.

I agree with you, but it is WORLDS better than college, where Oregon played something like 12 games in 14 weeks, then sat for half a season until their championship game.

It's not the bye week that's over rated, it's the No.1 seed that's over rated. You have to look at how teams got to their No.1 seed position. The Falcons won their 13 games by seeing Carolina twice, and beating inferior opponents. But when they had worthy opponents, they either forced over-time or lost. Same can be said about us in 2008.

idk about that in 08. We buried the Super Bowl champion (to-be) Steelers fairly late in the season.
