i just think he's too reminiscent of Young for them to go Cam's way at #8.

Personally, I do not want a QB who has won the National Championship. They have a longstanding history of failing in the NFL, and I think they come in without the sense of hunger. They will always be a legend in someone's eyes, so they feel entitled.

Give me a college choker (Gabbert, Locker, Mallett, etc.) any day. They have something to play for.

Agree and disagree. I agree that many Championship winning QBs do have a sense of entitlement as if their sh!+ don't stink but I do disagree because I don't think you shouldn't hold being a Champion against them either.

Yeah. Being a college choker leaves you mental room for improvement. When you have it all like Leinart, VY, etc. did, you think you are a world beater and the game has to catch up with you, and that is not true in most cases.

I think to really be a winner, you have to know what it's like to be a loser at some point.
I think that was a big problem with Vince. He dominated at everything his whole life. Complete domination from childhood up thru college. I don't think he ever had to go through the mindset that he isn't the best athlete on the field anymore, and it's a little harder to succeed than he thought it would be. I think it is part of what ate him up, and probably what made him consider retiring after his rookie year.
The problem was not that "he is an idiot crybaby" or anything like that, the problem was that he was not prepared for the adversity, because he had not seen it in sports, IMO. Though he could have responded better, that much wasn't his fault.

Hopefully one of the teams ahead of us will drink the Kool-Aid and make the mistake of picking him up leaving the Titans a chance to pick up someone they otherwise wouldn't have gotten a shot at. Maybe we should head to other forums and start talking up Cam :D

Would prefer Mallet over Newton, if I had to choose...

Agree, but we do not have to choose. Just say NO, I say.

None of these "elite QBs" are worthy of a 1st round pick IMO. Sad, but true. We have plenty of other holes to fill on defense anyway.
