Kerry and Fisher really are a good match.

The best thing anyone can say about either of them is "longevity".

And Vince Young hasn't had a capable coach since... ever? Why not see what he does with a capable coach? That's my argument. And yet he is still 30-17. I am so happy he is emancipated from Fraud Fisher and agenda-driven "fans" like dbc. Most of the Titans fans are great and appreciated VY (and he thanked them accordingly), but the very vocal minority of dbc's and Ewker's et. al. are undeserving of a player like Vince Young. You will know this all too painfully and viscerally when he is thriving for another franchise while you are still advocating Fisherball.

Being a fan of a team with these QBs on their roster for the past 5 years has made me realize how important that position is. And, that only this single player can void a dominant defense and offensive line and allow for an otherwise elite team to yield zero playoff wins.

When Kerry was QB and the Titans went 13-3 they had a very easy schedule. They played teams at the right time that year..won a bunch of very close games with questionable calls like the Baltimore roughing passer where some dude barely touched Collins helmet. I give little to no credit to Kerry Collins for that record, like you said it was a defensive team.

When the Titans started 0-6, outside of the division games they played the Jets, Steelers, and Patriots all on the road. The D gave up 34 pts PER game during that stretch. The only playoff teams we played with Vince in during the final 10 games were the Colts (lost 27-17), a Warner-less Cardinals which we won, and the Chargers in the game we had to have to get into the playoffs. Against the San Diego D, Vince threw for 89 yards, 0 td's and 2 ints. That actually may be slightly better than he played against the Chargers in his lone playoff appearance.

To evaluate the value of the QB position, Cutler went for 2 1st and a 3rd round pick and Orton. Orton is rumored worth a 2nd. Kolb is rumored a 1st and 3rd. Vince has ZERO trade value after his best 2 seasons in his 5th year in the league. This market value tells us the type of quarterback Fisher has had to deal with the past half decade. The homer Vince situation reminds me of people that have lived in a home for 10 years, and feel 'their house' is worth a lot more than all the other ones on the street. Unfortunately, it isn't. It's worth what someone will pay you for it.

Both QB's with Fisher as their coach can beat up on the weak teams, but fail miserably against the playoff caliber teams. Vince just happened to play a lot more of them during his run, which many fans of his fail to realize.

QB's make the coach, not other way around. Coaches, defense, and run games can only disguise how bad a QB really is. Warner had 2 completely different systems; got to Super Bowls and threw for an insane amount of yards in both. How were the Rams before and after Warner with the exact same coaching staff? How about the Cardinals? Same staff, completely different teams with a different QB.

Manning had Dunge now Caldwell. Hasn't missed a beat. Brees dominated in San Diego. Now has a Super Bowl with a coach no one would even know if they had continued to 'develop' something called Aaron Brooks.

    Zinger..

Right on. McNair did make Fisher. God's honest truth. Fisher is still riding that wave even after McNair is out of the league, and actually dead (RIP)

Shanahan is nothing without Elway (and T. Davis).

Belichick is not much without Brady.

Walsh was incredibly blessed with Montana, Young, and Rice.

None of these guys would be who they are/were without the QBs to get them there. (Walsh was one of a kind though)

Cowher won with Kordell what Fisher has won with Vince.

I don't think I've read anything here saying t hat anyone wants Kerry Collins. If we had Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, and Joey Harrington on the roster, the coach would have to play one of them. Let's not forget, Kerry is a washed up dude who came here to BACK UP Vince. They have both had some success and failure with Fisher.

I'm hoping for a QB who has a lot more ability than both of them. I don't see how anyone can be satisfied with Vince's ability on the field.

If I told you that next year Harbaugh goes to the 49ers and goes 10-6 and his QB (whoever that is) throws for 170 yards a game, has 12 td's and int's for the season. Would you credit that QB with those 10 wins? Absolutely not. All of that credit goes to Harbaugh and probably an insanely good defense... and O and D line. And, that if Harbaugh had even a DECENT QB, that he would have likely had a couple more wins and earned a 1st round bye.
