Our New Starting Quarterback

Jeff has done a bang up job bringing Rusty along!

 

What's wrong with wanting a QB (supposed to be the smartest person on the field) who can talk like an educated person?

The problem with getting a QB is the CBA. Here are the options as I see them.

Option 1: Most likely
Since we cant trade players until the start of the year we can't get a proven vet. So say goodby to Orton/McNabb/Kolb. The CBA goes well into June/August so our QB that we will take in the draft will sit behind KFC until we force him into the lineup after we start 1 and 7.

Option 2: Likely
We sign Orton or McNabb after they get cut, because since teams can't trade until the start of the new league year (new CBA) it is also the day that roster bonuses are due. So guys like this will get cut. Both QB's will want to start and would be about the best chance they will have with a decent team. No one wants to go to Carolina/Arizona.

Option 3: Longshot
It is a longshot, but keep it in mind. The Texans will Cut Leinert and Jeff will quickly pick him up and try to win with him, just so he can show bud what it would have been like if he would have let him draft who he wanted 5 years ago.

 

this...there is no way they draft Newton

 

I say trade 3rd round pick for Orton. Use the 8th pick on peterson, prince, or dt in that order than with 2nd round pick take gabbert, mallet, or locker. Give whoever it is 2 years to develop

 

make that the 11th overall pick in the first round, not the 11th round.

 

Anybody but Rusty or Orton.

 

I'm going with option three because it sounds just like what Fisher would do.

However, I think we could get Orton for VY, 4th, and maybe another late round picl.
