After what Bud just did. He wanted Vince but let the senior management sway him. Such a shame.

I'm another Houstonian who loves Vince, but after the stunt he pulled, even as an owner, Bud didn't have much of a choice. It just wouldn't look too great to keep the employee that tore off his uniform in a fit for everyone to witness, mouthed off his boss, and then defied him by storming off in the middle of work.

Vince had some good moments and some bad moments for us, but he made his bed that day, it's time to move on.

 

What if we end up with Cam Newton?

 

I fear another year with KFC as our starting QB. Or Simms or Rusty.

 

It isn't hard for me to be a fan now that we seem interested in addressing some problems that have been smoldering for the past few years. lean years ahead? You bet- but I'll be there interested and excited to see this thing grow in a better direction.

 

I'm just disappointed we haven't addressed a problem we've had for at least 7 years.

 

I agree, and look forward to the future now that a change (even if it isn't one everyone wanted), has been made. Unfortunately I see this upcoming season as nothing more than a stop gap between a new regime, which is a shame.

I'd rather just bring in a new coach immediately, as we could be seen as a fresher, more attractive prospect now. Any potential new coach that was concerned about being hand-cuffed with Vince doesn't have to worry about that any more. They can come in and build their own team and system with their own QB.
