You give up a pick to guarantee getting the guy.

Also, it buys time. If the Titans don't find the coach they want, and Fisher doesn't get the offer he wants... then he stays on as HC of the Titans for the last year of his contract.

At first glance most people would not take this seriously, in fact, most would lay into you.

The truth is, it's not a bad idea at all. The ONLY reason this makes sense is that all of us know that Bud is not going to pay CJ ridiculous, top at his position, kind of money. That means as soon as he is unrestricted he's outta Tennessee for a big contract. Knowing that, it does make sense to trade him while his value is high. If, and it's a big if, we could get two 1st rounders for him it would be smart to trade him. The way I look at it is, lose him next year or in a few years, not much of a difference he's gone either way.

If you think anyone will even consider giving up two 1st round picks for CJ you're smoking rocks. I'd be surprised if anyone would be willing to give us a mid-first round pick or better for him.

CJ did not play like one of the top backs in the NFL this year. Hell he's not even going to the pro-bowl (not saying he didn't deserve to go, but at best he would have been 3rd in the AFC). He's banged up and that 2000yd season clearly took a pretty serious toll on him.

The only player that has serious trade value on this team is Britt and I'd be shocked if we let him go.

If Pacman 4 HOF were made GM/HC for the Titans I could guarantee that we would go 0-16 every season until he was fired. This has got to be the dumbest single thought I have ever seen...

    In fact, here you go...

Dude, idk if you got the memo, but first round picks are valuable. I'd be hard pressed to believe anyone gives us one first round pick for CJ, let alone two. Especially after he kind of got 'exposed' as a one trick pony (20+ or -2) this year.

The guys on 104.5 were talking about trading CJ today. If we were to trade him, I'd prefer we go D Line in the draft to start and then look at Demarco Murray in the 2nd or 3rd (wherever he ends up after the combine) and take a LB with the other 2nd/3rd. Sign a free agent stop-gap QB and draft Jerrod Johnson as your future QB in the 4th/5th.

for you who said no one would give two first rounds for cj

dont you remember what the bears gave up for cutler ?

quarterback Kyle Orton and first-round picks in 2009 (18th overall) and 2010, along with a third-round pick (84th overall) in 2009

so whats so crazy about throwing cj trade ideas around
