I'm almost positive Fisher (assumes he stays) would rather roll with Collins for 2011 than pickup another 1 year vet rental that does not know our system and has no chemistry with our players.

But I guess it would be silly to think we are only 1 year away from a SB anyway. Draft well in 2011, suffer through another brutal year and draft well again in 2012 (with plenty of good QBs available as you mention). Its not the end of the world.

    Cam newton anyone?

Is newton the guy or are we looking at another vy?

Newton better not be the guy. Although I think he is a better passer coming out of college then Vince was, Id have him ranked behind Luck and Mallett, and right with Locker. I do believe he is someone some GM will reach for him the top 12 because of his upside, just hope it isn't us.

I agree about Fisher wanting to stick with Collins, hopefully he is gone and wont be able to make that call. If Mallett is drafted, bringing Collins back wouldn't be a bad idea because their styles are very similar. A lot depends on what coach we bring in because Mallett wouldn't fit with a west coast O.

As much as I hate Fisher's conservative play calling and reluctance to try new things, the man is an anchor in our organization.

Think about this: if Fisher is fired, who is going to handle the decision making for our 2011 draft picks? Bud? A new coach (it won't be a veteran)? The offensive/defensive coordinator?

Our team has fallen apart over the last several years b/c of a failure at the QB position, key players leaving for more $$ and key players aging out of the team.

Fisher has his issues, but without him we are far worse off IMO.

Mike Reinfeldt would handle the draft, same way he has done since he took over as GM. It is time for a change. Fisher has shown over 17 years what he can do with only having 6 winning seasons in that span. Very few organizations would have shown that much patience.

    Problem with Fisher..

I like Fisher but he has zero offensive imagination. If he could just let go of his conservative minded win in the last three minutes of the game. The guy has had his chance. I am nervous the next coach will be worse but its better to go for it than settle for mediocrity every single year.

A GM only has one voice in the draft. The HC has a lot to do with decision making.

Any HC that inherits garbage, goes through QB changes and deals with a moron of an owner is going to have big ups and downs.

6 winning seasons says a lot positive about Fisher, not negative.

Does everyone realize that to fire Fisher means we are sticking with VINCE as our longterm QB?
