It's funny, my buddy who is a cowboys fan is actually excited about the prospect of a Fisher coaching the Cowboys.

So based on your thinking Fisher would have won a Super Bowl had he gotten his guy Kerry Collins out of Penn State instead of some scrub from Alcorn State. Mmmkay... Makes perfect sense to me.

Well tell your buddy he's gonna get his wish. Tell him to be super excited because it's gonna be a great year for us, I mean them, when they take Fisher off our hands.

The body of work is there to fire jeff and vince young has nothing to do with it. W and L and a defensive coach that forgot how to coach defense. 8 and 8 not good enough

Whoo Whoo! That is the strongest case to fire Fisher I've seen yet. Fire him based on HIS W-L record and leave VY out of it. That sir is a damn good statement right there. I like the way you think LANGSTER.

it makes perfect sense that a coach would be more likely to fail if his owner insists on drafting certain players whether or not they fit in the coach's scheme. plus, that was a different situation back then. the point is, fisher new VY would suck (would anyone suggest he's even half the QB mcnair was?), but he had to draft him anyway. so go ahead and blame fisher for not making the most of it, but blame the owner for screwing him over in the first place.

"the players from the 99 team were all but gone, and we had the #6 draft pick for 06, which we wasted on vince young."

You know, comments like this is really embarrassing for our fan base. I know every teams fan base has a few of these, but it seems we have much more than the average team.

It might be VY's fault. It's his fault for Fisher still having a job. VY has bailed Fisher out several years now or Fish would have lost his job much earlier.

I will give my real opinion on when this started to go downhill...

After our Superbowl season, there was a lightly reported organization change...the removal of Jeff Diamond as President of Team Operations. At the time Bud replaced him with a relative or something like that. I remember thinking back then that we would see the team eventually go back to being the Nashville version of the Houston Oilers. It took awhile, but the characteristics that I bragged about with the team back then and since(great drafting and scouting ability primarily, great team discipline) gradually eroded over time.

On the field, this team reminds me of the Oilers at the end of the Jerry Glanville days.

This not intended as a slam on any drafted player since then, it is just my observation on when I think we started to drift organizationally.
