Colts are licking their chops, because they get to play a Jeff Fisher coached team Sunday :)

    I don't get you, Fisherbackers.

You say it's because Fisher doesn't have the right players, yet we have seen repeatedly that when he DOES have the right players, he DOES NOT let them play.

The OP states that building a team to beat the colts may have been his undoing, yet we have seen a flat refusal to employ tactics that other teams use to disrupt Manning, starting with the blitz.

We have heard from FISHER'S OWN MOUTH that he plays to keep it close and HOPE to win it in the end.

These things which I have stated are true; you have no answer for them, yet you continue to sing his praises. Why? I ask you... why? Why do you not see what is painfully obvious to others?

Apart from dbc, I can't think of anyone that "sings Fisher's praises". Myself, personally, I'd be fine with a change but I'm not going to subscribe to the baseline level of smack I see on the guy. People say he's a moron and an idiot and all this over the top stuff. I'm going to give him some credit for just being a head coach. It's really easy for us to sit here and over simplify what head coaches do. For what it's worth I feel like the Titans would have more success with a new coach, however, I bet Fisher does really well in a new situation. I say this while maintaining that the likelihood of Fisher having success here in Tennessee is low.

in all seriousness there is a member here who is actually Bo Scaife or knows him personally. I can't remember his screen name off the top of my head but his avatar is Scaife, his name is "Scaife-like" and his pictures in his album are all Scaife.

on Scaife-Fisher... this may be straying off topic, but anyways...

it's been said that Scaife was benched because of the interview, well, has it occurred to anyone that he perhaps made the "locker room division" comments after learning that he was going to be an eventual healthy scratch down the stretch? Could it be that with Cook and Stevens and his cap number (I haven't any idea what it is but given his history as a franchise player I imagine it might be high) he read the writing on the wall and decided to say whatever he felt like? That's a response to the allegation that he was benched because of the interview. I think it's logical. The idea that he was benched because he gave an interview seems kind of silly to me.

were we not 5-2 sitting atop the AFC South with the same players? Also we didn't trade anyone we picked up a Pro Bowl reciever and got worse. I have always enjoyed watching the smashmouth football we played in the past but it is time to move on. The way I see it we have two options blow up the team and go defense and big back w/ dink and dunk QB or Fire Fisher and bring in Offensive minded coach that can use Britt and Moss at same time along with CJ.

Yeah. He's a good coach, not a great coach. He has a very distinctive style of coaching that keeps the total score of the game around 30 pts when the O, D and ST's are running efficiently. That gives a chance for a big play from his team to win the game and he plays to keep the other side from getting that big play. Pretty boring style.

The problem with his style is that the rules have changed so much to encourage the "big plays" because that is what fans want to see. (And increases viewership.) The game HAS passed him by.

I also think it is over the top to characterize him as an idiot or terrible coach. His style simply isn't effective any more. And our current problems are a culmination of this issue, an owner that remains clue-less as well as "Lombardi-less", and some immature personnel issues.

I was just reading the postgame quotes at Titansonline, and man, I just can't stand the passionless, uninspiring Fisherspeak any more. Remove "make plays" and "execute" from his vocabulary and you have nothing at all. Even when it's a win, it's the same speech minus the word "didn't".

Read Coach Haley's quotes; not only is he considerably more passionate, but he points out that he decided to make Eric Berry a team captain for this game, which tells me that he gets players passionately involved rather than just establishing an unyielding and unbreakable tenured heirarchy.

Maybe that's how they went from 4-12 to 10-5 instead of just doing the same thing over and over and then blaming the players.

The problem being that everyone wants to play "connect the dots" meanwhile 75% of the dots are invisible..
