3rd and short ... throw it deep

    just one of the many gripes I have (had) . unlike needing 7yards and throwing it 5, it's now fashionable to throw for 20+ into tight coverage.

    the yang to this yin is to run it off-tackle (or draw) on 3rd and 20
    yeah yeah yeah, catch 'em off-guard .... pfffft ! ain't nobody buying it no more.
    it's worked once in a blue moon (miraculously) and geniuses were made of it,
    it's wing-and-a-prayer football, and it's time to stop the charade.

    It sucks because we've needed to open up a passing game, and we're doing it with a guy who throws boatloads of garbage passes. Completions are now seen is dumb luck instead of skilled plays.

    Not to mention the FACT that we're the most INEPT team at setting up the screen.


    All the while giving up 20 yds to the other team every time they run it.

    did we even have a 3rd and short yesterday? it was mostly 3rd and 18 thanks to Stewart and a few others.
