Which teams would give up a first round for VY?

Buffalo would most likely give up a 1st for him, possibly detroit.

 

He's owed something like $14M in 2011 and there will be some type of cap. He is coming off a thumb injury and has some maturity issues.

There will be no trade, unless he re-negotiates his salary, and there is absolutely no reason for him to do that.

 

Fitzpatrick and Stafford > VY

If a team gives up a 1st rounder for VY, I will buy Jeff 2 tickets to his first game on his new team to give away on the site somehow. Good thing I'm broke, cuz that ain't happenin.

 

Nobody gave up a first for Kolb.

But if/when he's gone, there will be plenty of teams interested. I could see someone maybe offering a 3rd or 4th round pick. Over 1/2 the league needs a QB, and most of the options are over-the-hill vets and completely untested backups. Vince is now an experienced starter with stats that, while not impressive, sure aren't the risk that most others would be. Trades and Free Agency put less value on potential personality issues than performance (see Moss, Owens, Haynesworth...). Most will pass but at least 3 or 4 teams will kick the tires.

 

This is the big issue that would preclude a high round pick in a trade. That contract and the maturity stigma drops him down a few rounds. Maybe a third or 4th but not a 1st.........The Redskins had/have the same issue with Haynesworth.

 

Because detroit has no quarterback Stafford's career is most likely over because he keeps hurting his shoulder, and besides him they don't have a good QB.
