I guess my expectations are too high.

I expect more out of a TE in 3 years than being a (questionably?) good blocking TE with 9 receptions and 111 yards (granted there are 4 games left).

In comparison Bo Scaife had 112 catches and 1014 yards in his first 3 seasons. Jason Witten had 188 catches and 2084 yards in his first 3 seasons.

Hopefully you guys are right and Stevens is like a rookie right now with incredible seasons to come.

(we could always draft Luke Stocker just in case, right?)

As someone who became a Titan fan just because of Stevens, I watch him first then rewind the game to look at what else happened.
He can't get more catches if you aren't thrown too. That isn't what they are using him for. He hasn't been playing on third downs for a while now unless it is an obvious run play and they want a two TE set. Until last night against the colts Collins only threw to his ankles, he still caught a couple of those. Vince goes to him twice in three plays against the Chargers and that worked out for a TD, then Vince went down.
The bottom line is Bo gets the snaps, until he doesn't you won't see what Steven's really has in the reception game. That said Steven's dropped balls this season were crappy passes, half of bo's dropped passes hit his numbers or both hands.
If you think the running game suffering is because Stevens is in there instead of Crumpler you are an idiot. Like I said above, I watch Stevens first and everything else second, most of the time Steven's assignment is taken totally out of the play.

Chris Stevens has quickly become one of my favorite players. And I hated it when they drafted him. It seemed like a wasted pick, since Scaife was all-world looking back then, but it has paid dividends. I think he will be a solid player for years to come.

Like I said, I guess my expectations are too high for a 3rd year player.

If only every offensive player could have the production of Craig Stevens we would be, oh... wait... uh.

Really, I can't wait to see him turn into the next Wes Welker. It's gonna be awesome!

The Jason Witten comparisons aren't fair. Stevens has never shown that ability. He isn't the fluid athlete that Witten is. I do, however, think a comparison to Heath Miller is pretty accurate.

Miller isn't a downfield threat, but more of a guy who blocks and gets open short, runs someone over and gets the first down.

Heath Miller's first 3 NFL seasons (total): catches 120, yards 1418.

I like that comparison though, I'd be thrilled if Stevens turned into a Heath Miller. And that appears to be a more accurate comparison in style even if not in success. Hopefully it really is just the "playing time" problem.
