Why is it that every person who defends VY is called a fanboy?

    #1. I'm a woman...not a boy

#2. I like Vince only as long as he wears two-tone blue. I would like to see this salvaged (thus, having VY and JF in my avatar). We'll see. However, that doesn't mean I can't criticize the coach or have an opinion favoring the QB.

I agree with almost every other thing in your post.

But I've never believed this story.

I'm sure most of what you're saying is true, but it doesn't address the signs we've seen the last couple seasons. Fisher had Young on the bench through six losses and zero wins last season, where he would have stayed had the owner not intervened. He was an immediate difference maker and the team went eight and two with him behind center. That's a WTF. Pulling Vince during the Steelers game this season was a no-brainer. He was done. Starting an apparently one handed Collins against Miami while a seemingly healthy Young is benched is a WTF. Young being upset that he didn't get a similar opportunity with a similar injury in the Washington game is also a no-brainer. If you're Vince Young, it looks like the coach is trying to bench you this season (your best season) for any excuse he can come up with. If you assume Vince cares about playing football and winning, it's pretty easy to identify the bullying aspect.

So if he believes that then why is Jeff fisher wrong for thinking the same thing?

As for the race thing it is inevitable when you have a black commentator taking the side of a black player in a dispute with a white coach. Problem is fisher hasn't had problems with other black players that i know of and anyone who watches Fisher's comments at the Mcnair funeral knows he really loved that man.

Earlier this year one talking head, a black guy i can't remember his name said that the Pats should not sign Brady to a long term deal because he is getting old but that same analyst said signing Moss was essential.

Then the subject was the brief holdout of reggie Wayne and he took Wayne's side even though Wayne was going to make $6.5M in salary alone this year and cited that Manning was over paid.

It's a damn shame when people can't have an opinion without seeing color but Whitlock's article has an odor to it.

I don't like the term bullying but Fisher obviously has issues with VY and VY has given him reasons to not trust him.

This year Young was playing so well maybe he deserved some slack. The miami game made no sense at all and the move to start Collins might not have cost us the game but it didn't help and our defense played like garbage.

Whitlock's assertion that fisher had lost the team was a bit premature. The players knew going in that we couldn't win that game with Rusty. Not that is a proper excuse.

Let's see how they play with Kerry back at QB. Being only one game out the players better damn give 100%.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Fisher is justified in all his decisions towards Young. What I am saying is he probably gave him the benefit of the doubt his first few seasons and wasn't rewarded by Young dedicating himself to winning. At some point, your attitude changes and you pull in the reins.

The San Diego playoff game was a rumor (should have stated that when I posted it originally) so, let's remove that for the sake of argument. You still have two documented examples of Young quitting on his team because he doesn't have the emotional/mental maturity to be a franchise QB.

The Collins start over Young that week was because Young wasn't practicing as late as Thursday. If Young is having a difficult time grasping the game plan with a full week to learn it, what makes anyone think he could so it in two days? How is Fisher to know Friday that Young would feel better on Sunday? Again, I see this as Fisher not having faith in Young. He'd given the ball to McNair if he'd been able to crawl out on the field on gameday (though he sometimes should not have).

Total speculation on my part but I don't see Collins doing any worse the second half of '08 as Young. The schedule got a lot easier. The defense played a lot better. Also, Wycheck said a couple of weeks ago that Fisher intended to put Young in after the bye week anyway. I have no idea why he'd say this but it stood out to me when he did.

Assuming you meant 09' (since 08 VY was benched all season), all I can give you is

    :eh?:
