Exactly! CJ does not fit this style of offense, you just can't smash your 195 pound RB between the tackles all day long and expect good things. CJ is taylor made for a spread style of offense or something similar to what the Saints, Colts or the Martz lead Rams offense.

Being that Fisher will never get fired while Bud lives. And we are in need of a QB. Can we trade C.J. to the Eagles for Kolb? We'll need money to re-tool this defense, and C.J. is about to ask for big $$ this offseason. I don't want to lose C.J. but Fisher doesn't know what to do with him. We can't find a QB as good as Kolb anywhere, and the only thing Fisher's staff knows is how to scout RB's. I'm sure the Eagles would take that offer in a heart beat.

Oh, sorry. I was literally sleeping through much of that piss-poor performance yesterday.

    Lots of factors here, IMO.

Teams are selling out to stop CJ. They are containing the edges forcing him to run inside. In the instances he is getting to the edge, he's not making defenders miss like he did last year. I also don't see the burst and there's too much dancing in the backfield trying to hit a home run.

The OL has been horribly inconsistent. See Roos get pancaked early in the game? Too many blown assignments and penalties putting the offense in passing situations. Yesterday, the Titans OL had four or more false starts and a couple of holding penalties. Mawae was the weakest link physically but they played as a unit much better last season.

The Titans miss the blocking of Crumpler and Stevens has been hurt too often. A blocking TE is a must in this offense.

CJ also seems to be frustrated with the playcalling. He's sounded off after games several times this year. I know he's a professional and getting paid millions but it's got to affect your effort if you don't buy into the gameplan. In the back of his head he's taking the handoff expecting that the play is dead from the start, and it shows.

Between the struggles on the line, the loss of Crumpler, the lack of a passing game, the defense staying on the field and the lack of faith in the scheme CJ looks to be just trying not to get injured. Hard to blame him.

Unfortunately I was at the game yesterday, and the thing that stood out the most to me, was the fact that both OL and DL were absolutely whipped. I understand the VY saga and Dinger news have been hard to handle, so I can understand the somewhat lack of passion out there. Obviously, when you start trailing by a certain amount, you are forced to become one dimensional, and that's exactly what happened. CJ was frustrated because he was getting hit in the backfield early. Needless to say, when team's are stacking the box with 7-8 defenders repeatedly, and you struggle to have a solid TE blocking, it's going to be an uphill battle to run the ball with any real success. I hate to say it, but sometimes you just have to give credit to the opposition. Completely outplayed for 60 minutes on both sides of the ball.

    He's looked slow all season.

Definitely lost a step during the offseason somehow.

I hoped he lived it up last season, talking about which celebrity he wanted to date, etc. because he'll never get that kind of attention again. This is the time he needs to keep quiet and just do his job.
