Getting Rid of VY could help CJ get paid

    Below is a breakdown of VY Salary and Salary Cap numbers..

    2010 $7.5 million Base $4.25 million Roster Bonus $14.21 million Cap #
    gain $9.29 million on Salary Cap if they cut or trade him.

    2011 $8.5 million Base $4.25 million Roster Bonus $15.21 million Cap #
    gain $12.75 million by cutting or trading him.

    So the Titans would have a extra $12.75 million next year to spend on CJ if VY is cut or traded and....

    And a better breakdown.

    VY makes $691,176 a game for regular season games
    CJ makes $119,706 a game for regular season games

    This info was from Paul Kuharsky blog on ESPN

    That is to funny!!!

    Rusty Smith... Based on his 4 year deal and signing bonus he makes...............

    $28,559 a game for regular season games... $662,617 less a game then VY

    Just though that was a funny fact.

    yep. VY is sucking up a roster spot and CAP and that is about all he is doing other than spreading disharmony


    I think CJ has done well considering fish face is determined to smash him into a wall of humanity 25 times a game no matter how bad it fails.

    Really? He is third in the league in rushing and within stricking distance of taking over first... With a avg to below avg passing game.... I would say thats pretty impressive still.... Fisher shouldn't be worried about VY and his job because without CJ Fisher doesn't have a job after last year. We can talk all day about VY coming in and saving his job, but if CJ doesn't rush for 2000 this team doesn't win more then 3 games last year.

    Why should we pay CJ with how we run him? I don't want a broken down speed back getting paid big...

    I <3 CJ, but is he really worth a huuuuge contract.

    Speed backs normally have a solid 5-6 years in thats about it. Occassionally you'll get lucky and land a Marshall Faulk and get a good 7-8 years. You hardly ever see a RB do anything after 30, and CJ is already 25.

    Don't get me wrong, I love CJ.. but to be realistic CJ already has 825 carries under his belt. How long are his legs going to last?

    If the guy didn't spoil people with his 2,000 yards of insanity last year, this year would be seen as a pretty damn good one.

    He's third in the league in rushing and leads the league in rushing TDs. And that's with the quarterbacks playing musical chairs.
