Are you really saying that the analysts on ESPN and NFL Network are football's brightest minds? :gag:

    A quote from Michael Irvin:

“Young deserves to be the starting quarterback for that team, make no mistake about it,” Irvin said. “The way he’s played and his win-loss record says that."

J.A Adande also brought up, that without VY saving Fisher, he would have been gone by now. So, no, not all of the football world is behind Fisher.

generally speaking the biggest % of talking heads on sportscenter and such will side with Fisher... its the safest bet, after all "he's the longest tenured coach...." (god i f-n hate that line!)
fact is that many "experts" know little about what goes on around here. this isnt a big market thats in the spotlight much. you hear from all of them the same regurgitated drivel, his time here, he's repected, he's a no nonsense guy...blah blah. you very rarely see someone being very critical of him ( other than local guys from time to time). he's been pretty damn average recently and hasnt won a playoff game since 03. you put him in any other market and he's gone 5-6 years ago easy...

if that's true then what they're missing is this game is about winning not how good you coach.

if Fisher had manning he would have never developed like he did in Indy.

Fisher is an expert at taking average running backs and turning them into appearent superstars and taking appearent superstars and rendering them useless (Young, Moss etc.) Great coaches bend their coaching style around the talent. Fisher bends the talent around his coaching style. That isn't smart coaching. That's and idiot with a big ego.

Who care what the "smart football minds" think

I'll take a dumb like gruden and a championship any day over a SO CALLED "football genius" who can't produce a championship in 17 years and passed on all the really talented players in each draft. Even CJ is starting to look like it might have just been one season.

Wow...really??? So if CJ gets 2,000 yards one season, then 1,200-1,500 the next, he is a one year wonder??

Talk about high expectations....no wonder folks want the coach gone here. I just feel sorry for the new coach with these type of expectations out there. Just rent an apartment, new coach.

Wow i take it all back

see i can play that way too.

Indeed. A 2000 yd season has only happened six times since 1970. Most of the time, running backs kill for 1200-1500 yd seasons. 2000 yards is truly one of those special events in sports and we're acting like we should see that every year. Right now CJ has just under 1000 yards with six more games. Even a pedestrian 50 yards a game gets him into that range.

People around here have no perspective for anything...players, coaching, the NFl in general. It's a fallacy of Internet forums in general. People will debate loudly, often rudely thinking that if they just pound a certain issue, it makes them right. Most of these arguments wouldn't last 2 minutes in a high school debate club. But since you don't have to see someone face to face, the loudest, sometimes most obnoxious comments prevail.
