Why can't it be both execution and play calling?

I'd say Stephen Tulloch being in the hole to stop Sproles for no gain and getting juked out of his shorts is hardly Jeff Fisher's fault. I don't think Anyone told Michael Griffin to hold Gates before picking off a pass and running it back to the one. Who's bright idea was it for Will Witherspoon to try to punch out the ball at the ten instead of wrapping up the tackle?

This was a team loss. The players didn't execute and there was some crappy play calling on defense, but this is hardly a loss that falls primarily on coaching.

And with that I'm leaving this moronic thread.

It will not be much of a change. Instead of Fisher, over there, Young gets most of the blame.

Last time I checked, Gates was an All Pro tight end. How many yards after contact did he get??? That I do consider execution. Our tackling today was pretty bad.

Rivers (who, also, last time I checked, was around the best in the league this year in passing proficiency...he is on my fantasy team, so I have watched him pretty close all season) threw to alot of receivers on third down, and they mostly were able to elude the first tackle to get to the chains (see comment above about poor tackling)...is that coaching?

Yea Gates is indeed a great tight end, and with that said we did nothing to even try and stop him.

Of course it is. I wouldn't expect anything less from the co-captain of the Jeff Fisher Damage Control Team. Do you and Rolltide have text alerts whenever anyone bashes Fisher so you can zoom into the thread and defend Jeff's honor?

Yes that's right. And how many people are agreeing with you in this thread? Or is this one of those cases where I'm right and the Internet is wrong?

Do I care how many people agree with me? I read something today about Fisher that sums him up perfectly. You can pencil him in for around 9 wins each your, but you can mark it in pen that he wont win a Superbowl. Until that changes the Jeff Fisher Damage Control Team just seems like a big joke to me. Even if you don't agree with me about this game it's not like Fisher has a big track record of success. And it's like I said, I fully expect to make the playoffs this year, if we don't do anything when we get there (or if we can't even make it) I don't even know how you can defend Fisher anymore.

Did you mem wipe what you just saw? CJ hardly gets positive yardage. Our defense is very bad. Our ends only do one thing..rush the passer..thats why screens and short passes kill us, we have 3-4 players out of position trying to add to their sack stats instead of playing their positions(its called coaching which we lack). Watching this game film should showcase whats wrong...we lost the running game and our defense is awful against the pass. Manning with destroy this defense

Our ends get up field and rush the passer. That's what we do. In fact, that's what the whole line is supposed to do. Why do you think we seldom blitz?

Teams are going to run draws and screens against this type of scheme, the linebackers and secondary need to be in position to clean those plays up.

This is elementary, people should know this....
