I don't want to be a hater BUT his two picks were made by Ball he tip one and the other he put his hands up and the QB had to wait just bit (go and see the Video)

But still great plays great reaction.

I went back and watched the tape, and like i said earlier his break on the ball is just super quick. Now if you go look at the tape of the last two games besides the two picks his quick reaction helped him get the pass defended and almost picked 5 times. He is just very instinctive with great ball skills. And He is listed at 5-10 but he plays much bigger IMHO. And no i don't think your a hater just unconverted lol. Which if Fisher sticks with him I truly believe he will convert ALL titan fans.:brow:

    There's no way.

Who will Finnegan be defending? Jason Avant?

Our corners don't switch sides. That's why Nick Harper was always stuck on Andre Johnson. If Maclin lines up on the offense's left, Verner's gonna cover him.

Maclin just had a huge game against the Falcons. I love Verner, but I'm not so sure I'm ready to see him covering Maclin. This game will tell a lot though.

If our front four can get the pressure on Kolb, I'm convinced Verner can handle the challenge. As long as pressure is applied, Kolb will make mistakes and throw balls short...and we all knows what happens when QB's do that against Verner.

PREDICTION: Verner gets his first pick 6 this week.

It's just like Mariani was with his returns... you can see it coming - he's so close every week it's just a matter of time.

I'm sold on Verner. In his 1st 2 NFL starts he faces Orton & Denver then Romo & Dallas. Gave up a few plays here and there, but that would have been disastrous with Harper in. Not only did he hold his own, play solid in coverage and run support, but he came very close to a pick 6 in both games simply from understanding what the offense was trying to do. Sky's the limit. Best rookie corner we've had since Adam Jones.

^^ Agree with the above poster.

If you notice, he starts making (more) plays later in the game. I decipher that to mean he's learning the WR's tendencies and reacting even quicker as the game goes on. His picks have came at the end of the game where he's making great reads and then jumping the route.

The guy's a playmaker. Wr've been playing soft coverage and he's still jumping routes and making plays.

Our corners used to just stay on one side. They started prepping Finnegan this summer to follow the other team's best WR.

Verner looks good, I hope he keeps his starting spot. Also, Finnegan isn't playing like a top 5 in the NFL corner this year. However, let's not get carried away and say that he shouldn't start over McCourtny. He's still a solid starting CB, even when not at his best, and we know that he's capable of playing a full on shut down game. He's earned his security in his starting spot. McCourtny and Verner have only earned one spot between them, and right now it's Verner's.

Cortland may be giving up some yards, but he's also making some big hits.
