Fuller over Hope

There have been 144 attempts in the last three games. Any good defense is going to give yards with that many attempts.

 

And why are there that many attempts?? Could it be opposing coaches see some vulnerabilities on film? Even with the outstanding D-Line play, the are still throwing it bombs away.

It needs help......

 

We've had big leads. The last three teams we've faced are pass-happy. The defense is spending a lot of time on the field because of quick scores.

Hope is fine at SS and i like Fuller as Hope's eventual replacement and at Nickel Back although i would rather see McCourty or Verner there (whichever one dosent get the starting job)

 

Watching NFL films tonight I noticed that Alterraun Verner was stripped of his right shoe and helmet then the ball bounced into the endzone. Effort like that. :thumb:

 

You only have one saftey on that list...changing positions isn't an easy thing you can just do...it take months maybe even a year or to get all the little things about the position. Sure a guy can learn but I wouldn't trust anyone on that list but Griff at the safety postion right now.

 

All I know is having too many DB's and not enough slots for them certainly isn't an issue I anticipated coming into the season.

Verner has been playing very well, but if Fish has it decided in his head that the spot is McCourtys, well, it's to the bench with him. Fuller does a damn good job at nickel and no, I don't think moving him to SS is a good idea at this point. I do think Verner is challenging McCourty for the number 2 CB spot...it'll be a nice little position battle to watch unfold.

I personally haven't been too upset with Hope's play...he had a pick in week 1 where he read the play before it happened and moved right to where the ball was going to be thrown. Aside from that PI against the Broncos, he really hasn't been bad at all. If a change is necessary, I don't see the logic behind taking Fuller out of the spot he plays so well in. Especially when we have Robert Johnson and Myron Rolle waiting for a chance

 

Do you measure the success of an offense with how many empty yards it accumulates?

QB1: 17/25 185 yards 3 TD 0 INT
QB2: 28/49 375 yards 1 TD 2 INT

I'll take QB 1 all day. And if we can continue to force guys into making mistakes, well, I'll take that too. Bend don't break is the style of defense this team plays. We sacrifice pass yards in exchange for stopping the run, getting sacks, and forcing turnovers. Fair trade if you ask me.
