If I'm not mistaken the QB controversy has been going on now for say..... four years?

Vince is our QB, not Collins. Let's move past this stupid benching. No QB is going to be able to beat the Steelers by themselves.

OK well lets examine this a little more.

Favre - Why would they bench Favre? Do you realize the media crap storm that would hit Minnesota if they did that? They literally go get him and bench him after 1.5 games?

Romo - Are they really going to put in Jon Kitna? Romo (at times) can suck but he's also had some really great games. Besides they did move the ball against Chicago, Vince didn't move the ball against Pittsburgh.

Brady - Bench Brady? Sure why not?

Hasselbeck - If he keeps sucking I'd imagine his benching is forthcoming but a new coach, you don't want to make too many big moves right away.

Edwards - He's not going to start next week, Vince will.

Garrard - It was a blowout anyway, besides what's putting Luke McCown going to accomplish?

Cassel - Have you seen Brodie Croyle play? Besides the Chiefs won and Cassel actually played better in the 2nd half, I saw the game.

Anderson - His backup is an undrafted rookie so yea. Besides if they cut Leinart and then bench the guy they replaced him with, sends a bad message. This would also cause a media crap storm.

Hill - He's already the backup.

Flacco - He might be the only guy I'd have considered benching. Bulger has had some success in this league but it's really a 50/50 call.

Rivers - Team was winning by a ton, didn't matter.

Unlike any of those guys Young really wasn't moving the football at all and yet we still had a shot to win. Collins helped spark the team and like it or not we did score with him at QB. Sometimes it's just not your day.

I think that pissed me off almost as much as the body slam on Vince.

I know VY will be a gentleman and take the high road about this but he MUST be FUMING inside! EVERY quarterback is going to have a few bad games a season, now Vince has to play with the thought in the back of his mind that he could be benched ANY second if he makes a bad play because he doesnt have the trust of his Coaching staff. Its BS!

And dont give us this crap of OH ALL THOSE OTHER QUARTERBACKS WERE MOVING THE BALL AND HAVE WON PLAYOFF GAMES!

Thats ALL the more reason VY shouldnt have been benched. 1st of all your admitting even top tier quarterbacks make mistakes and throw picks so why should there be a double standard for Vince when he consistently leads us to more wins than losses. And we didnt even LET vince air the ball out like we know he can because he only threw 10 passes. When Kerry comes in all of a sudden were not a running team anymore?

Stupid call on FIshers part. Kerry's first few drives were a wasted opportunity and he only got going too late for us to make ANYTHING of this game.

FIsher lost us the game when he made that switch, he didn't "almost win it" for us.

Simple. Vince isn't a top tier quarterback.

But I hope Vince is fuming. I hope he shows everyone he shouldn't have been benched last week and plays with a chip on his shoulder. So we'll see how he responds to this. Will he play awesome or will we see that "mentally fragile" crap again? Quite frankly if we see the mentally fragile stuff again... well lets just hope we don't.

Its hard for me to understand why we'd have Vince only throw 10 times, then let Collins throw 25 times.

Playing against the soft D that Pittsburg ran at the end of the game would've been beneficial for Vince, right?

Read this comment on a Yahoo sports chat page... Good points !

Vince Young may not be consistent with lets say "positive" stats, but you know who is? Tony Romo. He puts up positive numbers games in and out despite the issues on the field. Wait a second.. Romo can't win a game though.. I rather have a Winning QB then a QB who looks good on paper. Its only my preference though.

Then I read this a little further below and thought, hmm, very good point as well... Vince is an enigma, no doubt !

Vince Young is very inconsistent. Not sure his few great plays trump his poor decisions

Could it really be that He took VY out to keep him safe? VY did get thrown on his head pretty hard!

I still think Fisher should be all or none with VY!
