time for fisher to admit

I'd high five this but it seems to have disappeared on me.

 

I totally agree. The only thing the benching does is cause controversy.

The fact is, few people in this thread understand the game of football better than Fisher. VY was getting killed. Fisher was trying to salvage the game and see if a veteran quarterback could handle this amazing Steelers' defense. He couldn't, just like Matt Ryan and Turner couldn't.

VY is not horrible, the Steelers' defense just played astoundingly well. The problem is, you all expected the Titans to be amazing after defeating the lowly Raiders so efficiently. Blame yourself for being naive. Not the team. There was nothing that could of changed for us to win this game, other than what the Steelers did. They are scary good this year.

 

Fisher shouldn't have to make excuses for this. He did what he thought would help us win, and it almost got us there. I don't care what he says. There won't be a controversy if Vince plays well.
What we don't need is to get dominated. I say go with the hot hand. Vince was the hot hand last year, Collins was the hot hand today.

 

Who is to say VY couldn't have actually tied it up at the end if he was allowed the chance while the Steelers were playing so far deep in coverage. We'll never know.

 

That's not all it does, but so what if it does create controversy? Every time a strip club is built in the bible belt, it creates controversy. We still like strip clubs, don't we? We nearly came back in this game. I would have preferred to see better play-calling that takes advantage of Young's strengths throughout the game, but I do appreciate the attempt to win the game in the fourth by letting Collins work our receivers out some.

We have two QB's with different skill sets. If we could merge them, we would have one bad mofo of a QB. Since we can't, maybe we should mix it more often. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it.

 

I think VY gets too much slack but also doesn't get enough, if that makes sense. Favre had 4 turnovers and Romo had 2 ints. I think for this offense to thrive, we need to throw downfield alot more. VY will have his int's as will any other gunslingers. But It would benefit us alot more. I think VY is good enough to give us a high scoring offense if given the chance. Let us air it out instead of leaning on CJ praying for a deep run.

 

I don't think they would have stopped blitzing Young. He was rattled. Like you said, we'll never know.

 

Controversy equals getting the best players on the field. No position should be safe.
