C.J. is amazing. He turns 4-yard runs into 12, 13, 20-yard gains. He takes plays that normally only go for 15-yards and rips them for 60+yard TD's. He's a complete back, very versatile, and scary to see across the line of scrimmage. If he gets back to 2000+ yards rushing he's easily the best ever. Right now he's just the best player in the league today, best ever... Maybe, we'll see soon enough.

Half of us wouldn't put Drew Brees in the HoF, so it's unlikely we're ready to say C.J. is the best ever.

Without a doubt. The kid is for real. I've never seen another RB do the things he has done and is doing. And he's still getting better. I know it's too early to crown him the best ever, but he is definitely the best RB I have ever seen.

Barry and Emmitt were in a league of their own, and so is CJ.

You could argue either side of this coin.. CJ is super fast, crafty and very hard to bring down once he passes the D linemen but he's not the guy that's gonna power through a pile-up. His "moves" aren't as pretty as Barry Sanders though I think he's pretty close to being as slippery as Barry

He has yet to break the single season or single game record for rushing yards though he certainly gets enough touches. Gimme one or both of those and then we can talk..

Until then I'm taking the man, the myth, the legend.. Pete Johnson as my "greatest" RB. Just try and bring this freight train down..

Last year CJ had 7 runs of 50 yards or more. Jim Brown had 7 in one year for his best.
Emmitt Smith hold the record for TDs as a RB but only 6 of his in his career were for over 50 yards. Cj had three runs of 85 yards or more last year. Gale Sayers, a great open field runner in his own right has a long TD run of 61 yards.

In perspective the guys with the most TDs over a career from 50 yards or more are Berry Sanders and Jim Brown with 15 and 12. Johnson might come close to surpassing them after his 3rd year as a pro.

He holds the record for total yards from scrimmage. That is a key stat IMO because it really is the stat that counts. When looking at overall greatness I think you do have to include receiving yards as well.

The bottom line is CJ is performing as good or better than any RB ever but he is only in his 3rd year. If he continues a few more years at his current pace there will be little doubt about who is the best ever.

    Cj ......

And to think there were doubters three years ago. Pirate fans knew all along you'd struck gold for sure!

He still looks better in purple. :woohoo:

What I told you .... speed, power, and vision.

By the way ...... we got another one for you ...... Dwayne Harris # 17 holds all the school records for receiving yards and TD's. He'll probably go in the late 1st round or early 2nd. You'll see in this video.

His usual 2-3 yards per carry? Show me one game when he's averaged less then 4 yards per carry and I'll show you 5 games when he's averaged over 5

So much :bighomer: in this thread.

Douce is right. I don't think CJ is even clearly better than LT or AP at this point, and people want to compare him to Barry Sanders after one great season? C'mon man.

And the person that said CJ takes hits well... what? CJ gets raped on about half of his carries by guys twice his size. Watch the mic'd up video of him against the raiders for a small sample. I'd guess CJ has about 2-3 more years left in the tank before injuries plague his career.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is great and I'm very happy to have him; but you guys are way overdoing it with the best ever talks so soon.
