Vince is awesome

I'm not buying this. CJ set the NFL record for combined yards last year and we were 8-8.

This team starts and ends with defense. If it's not great, we are 8-8.

 

But... but... but... Dilfer didn't lead anything!!

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. You're talking about that one time between last season and this season when he wanted to get some extra money on his contract. You are talking about that time related to contract and money that his media answers were likely pre-discussed by him and his agent, right?


There's an interesting quote by Vince Young in the same article about Ringer, with an allusion at the end, to me, about LenDale White.

I really don't recall, while LenDale White was here, seeing any visible animosity on the field or in print from CJ regarding LW getting out of his way, or knowing his role, or any of that. The only distancing came before the 2009 season started, when he declared the new nickname.

Whether some mugs can understand CJ or not has nothing to do with the quality of person or teammate he is.

 

Cj is a great person and a wonderful teammate ask anybody on that roster. This thread is about Vince. And Vince is awesome. He's here to stay, and he's here to win. Titans are back!

Some of you are just ridiculous.
1. Why do we need a thread like this. VY had a good game but he only threw 17 times. Nothing to write home about.

2. Alot of guys who criticize vince have now stated they think he's improved but no one is gonna be sold on him until he beats a real superbowl caliber team. What? You think cuz he beat the niners last season he's supposed to get respect? Nope, the argument won't die unless he beats the chargers this season, or the colts. A real team. And does it with his arm. I don't mean 125 yds on 15 attempts. Im talking about 30+ attempts for 250+ yds. That's a real qb stat. That's a SB caliber qbs stat. Yes, i believe he can do it, but theres no point in trying to convince ppl he is the franchise QB until he proves it on the field. Until then your making yourself look foolish.

 

Vince Young is so awesome he can win the heisman trophy while in the NFL.

I'm a huge fan of Vy and an Oiler fan since 1974. Vince is doing what great players do, they get better year after year and they learn from their mistakes.
Last year it was the deep outs and the long bombs where he got much better.

Vince has added throwing on the run which surprisingly, he wasn't very good at. The pass to Nate was on the money in full stride. Also, nice touch inside the 10 on the pass to Scaife. It was always an adventure inside the red zone. It will be nice if we can do more play action.

That said, it was the Raiders and Vince isn't going to beat the Chargers and the like if they play defense like last year.

 

Sometimes is hard to tell between the "haters" and those who knew the potential was there but were upset with him for not showing it. But not seeing that VY has shown vast improvement of his game is jut being in denial. I'm a VY fan but conscious enough to admit that he need it the time on the bench to realize that he couldn't just get by his athletic ability. And now we are seeing the fruits of his labor. If he can be consistent this season this team can be dangerous and who knows may the SB is not such a far fetched dream after all.
