Where does our Defense rank this year?

I expect from 20-25.

 

I knew it was bad, but didn't realize it was that bad. I knew we were 32nd after the Steelers and Texans games (at least against the pass), but I figured we would've improved to lower 20's.

I'm going to say we will rank 19th.

 

I think they have the potential to be a borderline top 10, but all the stars would have to align for that to happen. Finny, Griff, and Hope returning to Pro Bowl form, not having a liability to the level of Nick Harper playing opposite of Finn, and extremely young front seven to develop and overachieve.

I have no idea now. I'll wait to see some of the young players in the preseason to just rank the defense bottom ten.

 

You forgot the NE game.

I for one think our defense will be much improved. I think we may even crack the top ten. I may be optimistic, but with getting Jason Jones back, the addition of Morgan, and the position battle at CB, I see our defense going way up. We might be weak at linebacker, but I really like Curran and I think he may step in and play really well at some point during the season.

 

I'm saying 11-13. Same for the offense.

 

I'm gonna be optimistic and say middle of the pack.... 16th. Sure we have some potential. But we were DREADFUL last season. I just don't see us making a huge enough jump to be a top 10 defense.

 

Just by letting Nick Harper walk and not re-signing him, we're 16th. If we can get a pass rush then I can see us cracking the top 10. I'm expecting year 2 under Cecil to be much better. I'd like to see us blitz more and bring more heat.

 

I was surprised to see our offense ranked at #12 in '09. I guess that's pretty much all CJ, but we were 21st in 2008.

 

Believe it or not I'd say we have improved in every aspect on defense from last year including LB. Tully is back better than ever and that's a position we've been missing since Godfrey was let go. We've in my mind upgraded at the DE & DT position's. Ford & Morgan can be really good, and getting Brown paired up with Jones could be awesome. The secondary will absolutely be better, you can count on that. Griffin will rebound, Hope might also, and the young CB's that were the reason we sucked are now better.
