I love the titans and all but I am sick of hearing CJ whine and the titans being stubborn. Don't get me wrong he does deserve more money however I am at the point of piss or get off the pot.

The business side of me says you signed the contract deal with it but as a titan fan I hate to see him go. Fact of the matter is titans are not going to the playoffs let alone a superbowl this year. SI ranked us 27th. This is pretty much a rebuilding year.

First of all eric's super bowl requirement is just silly. Eric Dickerson and Barry Sanders never saw a super bowl and Tomlinson has not either. Based on Eric's logic Walter Payton was a loser for his first 10 years.

A RB is one guy, he can't make a break a team like an entire defense or a QB but an elite player like CJ deserves to be paid as well as Steven Jackson or Reggie Bush.

I hope that he gets a big pay day soon, his production will drop off as a result.

Ask Bill Polian about it..

Another reason to make a long term investment in Chris Johnson.

Smaller RBs actually have better longevity than big backs. Look at guys like Curtis Martin, Warrick Dunn or Tiki Barber. They take fewer direct hits and as long as they don't have any major injuries to their legs can be effective longer.

Another thing about CJ is that he is so f*****g fast that even when he loses a step he is still one of the fastest backs in the league. This is a guy who could be 30 years and 10 lbs heavier than he is now and still have solid 4.45 type speed.

The bottom line is that this is a guy who has elite talent and has produced at an elite level. Barring a major injury i see no reason why he couldn't average 1600 yards a season for the next 6 years.

I'm seeing a lot of posts calling C.J. a baby and other things, but all the man wants to do is start a life in Tennessee. It's hard to do that with only half a mil coming in. Sure he's got that signing bonus, but even that isn't enough to see his plans through. C.J.'s wants the Titans to commit to him long term so he can pick up his life in Florida and permanently go to Tennessee with his momma. I don't know what he's spent his money on, but the life style he lives he'll need some more money. And the thing is that he defiantly deserves a raise, a major raise. Take into account that he not only sells merchandise and tickets, but he also makes the Titans worth following. How many Bulls fans were Bulls fans just because they all wanted to be like Mike.... Tennessee needs to invest in C.J. now while they'll get their moneys worth on this contract. Others have brought up the Tomlinson deal that never was fulfilled. Tennessee should be smarter than that, and act now.

I don't disagree... but, the counter-argument to this would be from him: "Why should I bother playing for a team that isn't good enough to be in the Super Bowl?"

Let's face it... he did his job. The rest of the team failed. It's not his fault the Titans aren't Super Bowl Contenders...

I will be the 1st to come back and eat my words if they do make it to the playoffs. I dont see it and I dont see CJ getting paid neither. He deserves more but his numbers are too high for the stingy titans.
