Those are good stats comparing Hood and Harper. I thought Hood played well when he was in the game and deserved the starting position last year.

If Hood becomes the starter this year I think he would've earned it from his play last season and obviously (if he wins the spot) his work in the offseason and preseason.

Alex Smith - let's pretend he was a terrible QB last season.

Garrard - The same Garrard that passed for 323 yards in the game Harper started.

But it doesn't matter. Half the QB's that Harper played against suddenly looked like Pro Bowlers. Hood did his job.

He may not be great, but he's dependable. And he seems to have a knack for making plays. Let's not get greedy...

Titans CB Roderick Hood is out until June at least after undergoing surgery to fix a sports hernia.

The Titans are optimistic that Hood will return by the final two months of June, but that seems unlikely. The injury is a major blow to Hood's chances of winning the starting cornerback job opposite Cortland Finnegan. Jason McCourty and Ryan Mouton remain the odds-on favorites for the position.

I'd say McCourty looks like the favorite then

Okay...for what???... maybe 2 plays? He barely played.

In the game against the Pats, Hood made one tackle and didn't defend a single pass, so you can't really count that game.

So, it's looking like the #2 spot will be going to either McCourty or Hill due to Hood's surgery. There's no way Mouton gets the #2 spot... if he did, we'd be in deep ****.

Rod Hood couldn't tackle my grandmother and Fisher hates him anyway. The dude is awful, re-watch the Seahawks game and you'll see what I'm talking about. The guy can cover better than Harper but then again Helen Keller could too.

Now enough with the Harper and Hood bashing, I think McCourtey wins the job but I still don't know about him. As for Mouton, he looked lost last year, only one pick his senior year at Hawaii and a shaky PR to say the least. Very unproven IMO. I would not be shocked if Verner came out and took us all by surprise. I heard something about him not having a good first practice, I hope he's improved because he was a playmaker at UCLA and hopefully he could bring that element of his game to Nashville.

Where's Mouton? I'll place my bets that Mouton will be lining up across from Finny in September.
