The creative juices were flowing and since it's May I got to thinking; who were the better tandem the Titans have ever had in their back field? Was it Eddie George & Lorenzo Neal or is it Chris Johnson & Ahmard Hall? Both couples have only been together twice during their careers. Eddie and Lorenzo did it big 1999-2000 going 13-3 back to back and on to lose a Super Bowl, whereas C.J. & Hall have gone 13-3 and then a promising 8-8 finish. Everyone knows Lorenzo Neal paves the way for anyone to reach 1000-yards, but is Ahmard Hall just as good? He did help launch Chris Johnson's career while Johnson was chasing the rushing record this past year, something George didn't come close to. Through the 99 & 2000 season Neal moved bodies for Eddie to collect a total of 2813-yards rushing and 23 TD's. Through 08-09 Hall has done similar work helping C.J. rush for 3234-yards and the same number of TD's. So which two made the better tandem?

I'd honestly rather have Hall/Johnson. But Neal is better than Hall, so in a perfect world it'd be Neal/Johnson.

EG did it 5 yards at a time with 9 men in the box. EG/LN over CJ/AH - for now

I love Eddie George. He's my favorite Titan of all time, was a monster on the field, a horse in the workout room, and a warrior for this team. That being said, he never even came close to having a two year stretch like CJ has had in his first two year. Eddie was a machine, again, and I love the dude, but CJ+Hall FTW.

And btw former Lendale haters, Eddie George only averaged over 4 yards a carry two seasons in his career.

I would go with CJ and Hall. Hall is one of the most underrated FB in the league minus his "Catch and Fumble" technique he does so well.
As for the records go.. The 99-00 Titans had one of the best defenses in the league. (Peyton Manning was still young and didnt torch us as often.)
Also the Titans went 13-3 twice under Steve McNair. We're left with Kerry Collins and Vince Young (he's improving)

As much as I love Eddie, CJ is by far a more explosive player. But you cannot forget the fact that Eddie carried this franchise with a terrible offense until McNair figured it out.

    ps. LenDale still sucks!

My God guys it isn't even close. The difference between Hall and Neil is minuscule. Not even an issue although maybe Neil gets the nod.

But CJ is on track barring injury to be one of the greatest RBs of all time. There has never been a Rb with more explosiveness who can take it to the house. Only the very elite like Dickerson or OJ come close. Also CJ catches the ball adding another dimension a guy like Faulk had when he played.

Eddie was good especially in his prime but no where close to the back CJ is and we have at least one SB with CJ on the team (probably two or more) from 99 to 2003. CJ is great. One of a kind IMO.

...Can I have all four? :D

I guess I would have to go with CJ/Hall, because CJ has explosiveness that Eddie lacked. Somehow, though, with the game on the line in a pressure situation, I always felt in safe hands with Steve and Eddie... Not a knock on VY/CJ, exactly, just an indicator of the kind of character these guys had - even when it looked bad, you just felt like we'd win because Steve and Eddie had such drive and such fire... No wonder I became a Titans fan!! HELL YEAH!!

CJ is 2X the runner that Eddie George was.

The 9 man front argument is a joke. What hall of fame QB is CJ playing with? What hall of fame WRs? Teams don't game plan to stop a 2000 yard runner but they go all out to stop a 1300 yard guy? bullcrap!

The difference is that the more people you put on the line against CJ the better chance he takes it to the house because if he can breakthrough it's over.

He has already proven himself to be one of the most explosive backs ever.

    Not even close!
