You have to have talent to excel in this league no matter with what club you rush for. Jarrett Peyton didn't go for 1,000-yards. If Ringer was able to get the carries I'm sure he could break a thousand. Problem is; C.J., and right now LenDale is in his way also. Only way we'll see Ringer is if we deal LenDale somewhere, and I wouldn't do that unless it gave us what Washington wants for #92. I'm not so anxious to see Ringer out there while Whites still hungry, but he does remind me a little of Emmitt Smith.

I really like Ringer but the only knock I would have with him is if he can be durable in the NFL. Purely from a talent standpoint both backs are probably equal with Ringer being a little more of a complete back.

I doubt LW has much value in a trade which should say something about what teams really think about him. He is a one trick 3.5 yards per carry pony who can be effective in short yardage and goal line. IMO Ringer has a little more wiggle and burst and probably doesn't have that much less power and is a better threat catching balls out of the backfield.

I would assume the Titans see Ringer as a more viable backup to CJ. The contrast between White and CJ is like night and day and I think the Titans would prefer to have a backup who can do a little more than give you 3.5 YPC and a cloud of dust. LW really hinders the more open offense the Titans are trying to run and prefer a back with better speed and skills. I really don't see LW in the Titans long term plans at this point.

not to mention ringer broke his back last year, we don't even know if he can take a hit or if he is anywhere near where he was last preseason.

The bold part of the post is a home run hit, but the top part I'm coming at you for. LenDale has more wiggle believe it or not, and has more of a burst too. I know I may have just opened up a whole other argument, but I feel that LenDale hasn't been utilized properly. No surprise I say that, Vince Young wasn't used correctly either for a while. It's true LenDale's best days as a Titan may be behind him, but I don't fault him for that. Sadly this has become more about personal beef between him and Fisher than it should have. I thought it was about playing the best players, but while C.J. is rewriting the record book, LenDale has no role here.

Lendale has burst? He has quick feet and a knack for finding a crease but he is anything but explosive. Ringer isn't CJ but he has a little more than LW. LW looks like he is running in quick sand and Ringer at least gives us a guy who can bounce one outside once in a while. The only wiggle LW has is his gut when he runs.

I can't believe all the people who voted for Ringer. In short, Ringer hasn't done squat for the Titans. I love it how everyone points out how well he did in pre-season against "Steller" competition!

Pre-season means very little until he can push Lendale for the #2 RB spot on this team the job should be Ledale's to loose.

I also love it when everyone refers to potential when the production isn't there for Ringer. Let's ask the Raiders how recruiting/drafting/starting players based on potential worked out for them? :suspect:

I saw this quote and was like REALLY? Reggie Bush may have had all the yards because he was an exciting player. However, anytime the game was on the line (SEE USC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME), who was on the field???

It's interesting that the guy who "RODE" Reggie Bush's coattails outplayed him in the biggest game in their college career and their entire careers as a PRO.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this qoute, do me a favor can you please look up Lendale's college TD stats and let us all know your findings...

This quote was the one that I found most interesting? Question, are you saying Ringer has power and speed based on opinion or fact? I just figure if you're going to claim he has more upside over Lendale at least get the facts straight. Ringer has upside over Lendale simply because he hasn't played. We know what Lendale can do, and we DO NOT know what Ringer can do. However, to say Ringer has speed and power?

Ringer and speed has never gone together. In fact, that's why he was drafted when he was? Am I wrong?

I thought you might say that, but LenDale is going to be a good player for years if not with us then somewhere. I'm pretty certain of that. He doesn't get the credit he's due, but he's due none lately because of the recession I guess. He's a great 2nd back, but could serve as a starter too. I don't think he'll be around, and that's fine if it's productive.

I base that on raw ability.

You really base his ability as a RB on his ability to return kicks?

My comment was in Lendale's favor, not to make a case against him.

He was rated far higher coming out of college than Ringer. (since that's all Ringer really gives us to go by)

And Ringer was good in college, but the reason he slipped so far in the draft and fell off from being a Heisman contender was due to injury... since that injury, he hasn't shown as much.

He is faster than White in pads, and in this comparison, that is what matters. He can break tackles and get up field too.

If White was as accomplished in college, why did his draft stock fall?

It is not like we are comparing college QBs to NFL QBs. These are running backs, and this is really an apples to oranges comparison, IMO. Trying to make White a feature back was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. It is obvious the front office realized it was a mistake, and our running game has never been better. White is a hard nosed short yardage back with excellent patience, a knack for finding the hole, and a nose for the endzone. He is a great goal line back, but he is a halfazzed feature back because he rarely ever gets to the second level. He lacks the speed to break away, he does not break tackles and keep running, and he is a big target to hit.

Want to know why Ringer was drafted? Because if we had another legitimate feature back against Baltimore in the playoffs, we would have won that game. Ringer has the best chance of filling that role behind CJ.
