Ginn's lifetime KO return average was around 20 or 21, correct?
What was The Titans' average last year?

^That stat is not that important. What is important is field position. If we could give the offense a short field to work with, we'd score more than in 2009. And that's the idea isn't it?

Meh, I rather save our draft pick and use it on a returner in the draft.

Ginn's punt return average last year was like 6.5 ypr and the Titans was somewhere around 6.0 ypr. He had some pretty good kickoff returns but overall it wouldn't be too much better than what the Titans have in the return game and I guarantee he would drop more passes than Washington and Gage combined. I would much rather have that 5th round pick. The 49ers got a pretty good deal but you have to look at it from every angle. Sure it was a good deal for San Fran, but why did the Dolphins give him up for a 5th round pick? Something about that doesn't add up. IMO.

I can get as down on our FO as anybody. But I really don't get what everyone's seeing in Ginn. As a WR, he's average at best. He wasn't going to solve our punt return problem. He IS a pretty good kickoff returner, but not spectacular. Personally, I'd rather save the 5th rounder. Come on guys... Ginn isn't all that special.

I had to chuckle at this. My mate is an avid 49'er fan and he is not too impressed.

Everyone is missing the point. The NFL is about speed. You can say oh he wasnt any good for Miami but that doesnt mean he would not be any good here. Blocking is half the equation and the rest is up to the returner. Ginn is young and has experience whereas a 5th rounder is young but no experience. Not sure why everyone is so high on late round draft picks, you can strike lightning but seriously its a 5th round pick.

Ginn on one side and Britt on the other would've looked pretty good a few years down the road, IMO.

    Oh well.
