Simms anyone?

Booty left us in January. He's with the Texans now.

 

I'd love him as a third. Slightly nervous with him as our only backup.

I'd prefer that Collins was willing to take a few million in paycut, and we kept Simms at least through camp as the third, but I doubt that all parties would agree to that. Mostly, Collins.

 

I r ember when some Fans thought he would beat out VY or he was suppose to be his replacement. When I seen him come in Last year for Denver he was terrible I would rather keep KC and draft a young guy.

 

No doubt we will need a 3rd QB IMO because of VY's injury history. Simms was a guy Dinger seemed to like I thought so why not bring him in and let him compete for a roster spot? That doesn't mean Collins is going anywhere but if VY pulls a hammy or tears a quad we need a 3rd QB just in case something were then to happen to Collins.

I do think we need to seriously consider a young QB to be potentially a future backup to Young when Collins hangs them up. However the Titans have traditionally liked bringing in washed up vets instead of developing a young guy to be a reliable backup.

 

A team with 2 well paid quarterbacks is a team without a quarterback

 

If we do get another QB; I think it would be prudent to pick up a dual threat QB like VY in the later rounds. Because of the risk of injury; we need insurance and we need to completely commit to playing A particular style of Offense. Having VY with Collins back him up doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me because when Collins is in; we are back to being pretty vanilla. If we can find someone like Troy Smith or Troy Smith himself; that would make more sense to me. Then if VY does have an injury; we aren't forced to completely change our playbook and ask our players to adapt to new limitations.

 

I love Simms wish he'd get back here, think we take a QB 3rd day.

 

I was one of the ones who was not happy when he was cut, and I'd be happy to have him back.
