As we read this morning in the Tennessean Gregg Williams was adamant about his desire to rejoin the Titans this past off season. He even sounds like he'd leave N.O. the day after the SB to come here. Jeff Fisher tried to hire Williams but the combo of Bud Adams nepotism rule and Williams persistence to bring along a family member axed the deal. Even after Williams told the story Fisher said he only spoke to Williams and no more than that as to protect Adams and Cecil.

Fisher never once mentioned this when people where on his back about the Cecil hire. More than likely Fisher would have never talked about it the rest of his life. For ever story like this that gets out there are 9 more we have never heard. Fisher doesn't care what you, I or anyone not on Bud Adams payroll thinks about him and his decisions. All the VY stuff that happened.... Fisher was like a force field deflecting info so well that still no one truly knows how much of a diva Young was except the people inside the organization. We don't know why he changed RB coaches but 16 years says he probably had a good reason.
Merrill Hoge ratted out his friend Fisher, the next day Hoge is retracting. Adam Schefter said VY wanted out of the SD playoff game in 2007. The next day the story's retracted.
My point is the Williams case is one of the many reasons its just plain dumb to sit at your desk and claim Fisher don't know what he's doing. There's a reason why Bud Adams loves him. There's a reason VY loves him even when the VY fan doesn't. There's a reason he is one of the most respected people in the NFL. There's a reason he puts more guys in the Pro Bowl than any other small market team.

Meh. I still blame Fisher for not having a better backup plan than Cecil (and for plenty of other things).

Fisher knew what he was doing by not having a reliable backup CB? Mentioned as a major concern by many fans prior to the season.

Fisher knew what he was doing by cutting our only experienced return option weeks before the season?

How bout when he said this was the "greatest team he's ever had"?

Did he know what he was doing by giving Collins the job before the preseason started?

If you're referring to Chris Carr did you see the Jets game last season? He was awful.

Derrick Mason, Pacman, etc. all rookies that did well in the return game.

Greatest team? Well if Griffin, Collins, Finny, Vanden Bosch, etc. played the way they did in 2008 it would have been.

As for starting Collins? VY quit, and KC stepped up and won 12 games. Easiest decision Jeff ever made. Blame that one on your boy VY.

    Hindsight critics are everywhere. Congrats.

everyone bringing up the Collins starting at the beginning of the season situation...I'm the biggest Vince Young supporter here, but lets be honest, there isn't a coach in the NFL that would of benched Collins after going 12-3 last season.

Yeah but unfortunately it's the same reason we've never won a championship.
All that matters is winning a superbowl. The rest is just BUNK.

16 years of losing with Fisher is ENOUGH.

Yeah and there's only ONE coach in the league that wouldn't have benched him after 5 straight losses and unfortunately we have him. He had no intention of benching him after 6 losses either until bud adams stepped in.

Fisher is a dinosaur. He needs to be made extict in the NFL

16 years of losing is long enough!
