Guaranteed, yes, but whom foots the bill can be up in the air. Should another club hire Fisher, that club would be on the hook for his contract. For all the sunshine the media blows up Fisher's arse, he could have another job tomorrow. He could even be united with Haynesworth. The only thing that would keep him from finding another job would be himself. Look at Shanahan and Cowher. Long tenured coaches like taking a break.

I really don't think Bud would care to do it. He's done it before. He's done it in the middle of the season. That's how we got Fisher. If Bud promotes from within, such as promoting Heimerdinger, he doesn't even have to worry about hiring a high priced replacement. It really just depends on how bad Bud disagrees with the direction Fisher is taking the team. Bud himself had to step in for Fisher and do some coaching (benching Collins, starting Young). I really don't think it's likely, but I love entertaining the idea that we could be on the hunt for a new HC as early as today.

So it's OK to just let our team lose and lose and lose and do nothing to stop it because 'we'd probably lose in the playoffs'. Right. What would have happened is we would have made the damn playoffs and HAD A SHOT. All it takes is a hot streak to make it to the Super Bowl. Ask the Giants. Ask the Cardinals. Ask the Steelers. Ask anyone. You win 3, you're in. They're three tough ones, but dammit you DONT EVEN GET A SHOT when you start off 0-6 and your damn coach is gallivanting around in a PEYTON MANNING JERSEY.

And how did it effect you when Fisher's smug a$s rolled up wearing a Peyton Manning jersey talking about 'I just want to be a winner.' Did that give you a little chubb...seeing 'your guy' out there wearing our number one enemies colors? When we're 0-6? "Just wanted to feel like a winner".

And the Coach is the guy responsible for putting those things in place, no? You can't compare a QB to a head coach, two completely different ball games. Fisher is an average coach. Period. He coaches 8-8 teams every year. Whether we're run of the mill or have Super Bowl talent, somehow Jeff will manage to mold them into mediocrity. Good riddance, Fish. It's been a long, boring ride.

Call me silly but I don't see a difference here. Starting bad or finishing bad..whatever. Bottom line is they needed the Charger game to have a chance and they failed to even show up, be respectable, and as a result are spectators now. So what's so exciting about finishing 8-8 versus say 4-12 (which would give them a higher draft pick)

I'm sure Fishhead is satisfied with the 8-8 finish. He REALLY HAS NO CLUE.

You guys make no sense....there is a reason Fisher is the longest tenured coach in the NFL...and seeing how there is still money on his contract, why would Bud Adams fire him?

And if it did happen, who are you going to replace him with?? A fresh young coach like how McDaniels is......oh thats right he started 6-0 and where are the Broncos? Watching the playoffs with us. You want a veteran coach? Not many options out there, that would want to come coach at Tennessee. And I for sure dont want a College Coach coming up.

So where do you go for a new Coach???

And im sorry, I for one would rather keep Fisher and let him add the final pieces to make this team a true contender....rather than fire him and let Jerry Jones have his dream coach so Dallas can win a Superbowl....NO THANKS.

The Charger game was a pathetic performance, yes, but I really don't think much could have been done to change the ultimate outcome of the game. The Chargers were a much better team than the Titans this year.

And to me, there's a much bigger difference in starting out the season strong and falling apart at the end versus starting out poorly and finishing strong. At least psychologically.

Cowher had a winning postseason record, but until (I may a little off) his 14th year as a coach, he'd never won a Superbowl. Now everyone thinks he's Lombardi. I'm sure there were Steeler fans that were tired of his "get to the postseason but not finish" routine. Peyton Manning and the Colts, with all their success, have only one Superbowl ring.

I agree that Fisher has his flaws, but it's ridiculous to say "I want anyone but Fisher (even an unproven coach) and we'll do light years better with the same personnel".

So what you're saying is that you prefer average over a chance to be better because becoming better takes change and courage?

"...and let him add the final pieces to make this team a true contender...."

Didn't he have that opportunity last season? And isn't the name of the professional football game the Super Bowl? Who would not want to win it? Heck, I would settle for a winning game or two in the playoffs! Sorry, but it's just time for a change. Not changing is what cost us a likely playoff this season.

The reason he's the most tenured coach is because people (including BA) I believe are comfortable with him at the helm. For some reason people are afraid of change..they assume it'll ultimately end up negatively instead of a positive outcome.

Its hard to say "who" to get...records alone dont tell the whole story. The vet can end up a dud..or the young guy can end up the stud. Like any interview you have to go with your gut. However I would like a coach that believes in his players...is willing to develop schemes around players instead of having them adapt to their system...does a great job of evaluating the talent surrounding them and puts the best players on the field...who doesnt try to cut corners..by acquiring quantity over quality..someone whose willing to make adjustments when they see that something isnt working.

JF has had 15yrs to "add the final pieces" and make this team a "true contender" and he has yet to do so. He's gotten more chances then most HC in this league who has ultimately has brought home nothing to Nashville. What makes you think he's going to bringing home championships to another city overnight?

At the end of the day..I honestly believe that this team needs change. They need a new fresh perspective..I think JF message after 15yrs have fell on deaf ears

Lots of interesting opinions on this man Fisher. As for me I am a long time hater of the guy and will freely admit so. Some people have made the erroneous comment about how fisher has never had a "great QB", i beg to differ. We have had one. Steve Mcnair. And the year i opened my eyes and saw fisher for the dumb aZZ he is was the very year Mcnair won the MVP with manning. Titans fans has been bamboozled by fishers idiotic run Eddie George 400 times a season that they couldnt see that we had a good Qb in Steve being under utilized. From that time on, i have always seen fisher for the over rated doofus that he is. An unimaginative moron who thinks the only way to succeed in football is to stay with in your comfort zone, his "box", dont think outside of it, dont think out of the box until the whole thing has practically been burned down from side do side. Hence his being forced to let Mcnair finally throw the ball, hence that nonsensical blitz crap you saw against the chargers.

When things have completely collapsed that is when he decides to pull out the stops...(And btw folks, with an 0-6 start things in fishers eyes have still not yet collapsed..not time yet to start vince young in a situation like that)..

SOme one in another thread actually said of us that are sick and tired of the four man rush bull crap defense that Fisher installed and forces Cecil to run. (Yes people that is fisher defense. I dont care who the coordinator is, thats the same basic bull sheet defense fisher forced Schwartz to run).

I have been a long time Fisher hater and i will gladly tell those praising his ability to remain average to go jump in the cumberland, and take that worthless CJ for 2000 record with you, (i dont know what in hell I as a titans fan could use that nonsense for other than remember one of the worst collapses a former superbowl contender has suffered. Oh BTW, i am sure there are worse ones, i sure as hell dont care about them because all those other ones werent the titans team that i support)

2000 yard Rusher and you dont even make the play offs!!! If i owned that team, i would have told fisher not to bother getting on the plane back to nashville..(actually to be honest, if i owned that team, i would have fired fisher on the day after our last training camp when he cut faggins, and kept complete meat bags, like harper, chris henry, donnie nickey, craigh hentrich on the team and that he was planning on using Griffin to return punts!)
