I will agree with alot said so far. I believe VY has improved. The one question I continue to ask myself and others is; "how will VY play when the expectations are high and the season isn't already over?" Two of his three starting years, the season was essentially over and there were no expectations once he took over. How will he continue to progress. I hope he restructures his deal and extends for a couple more years so we can at least know for sure that we gave VY every opportunity to succeed.

Bigger question........Why keep Fisher? Fire Fisher, keep Dinger(him and VY seem to be finding a nice groove) and go after a real Defensive-minded head coach. People may say Fisher is a Defense first coach, but truthfully he is the most passive, submissive coach ever.......I hate this mentality!!! God I would much rather have Rex Ryan!!

Nice stats. I like the guy, and was pulling for him to come back successfully. The last thing we need is to replace Kerry AND Vince.

No idea why he gets so much hate. Even from Titans fans, but whatever. He's not a bad QB and strangely enough... After a little time under Dinger, he actually looks like a damn traditional QB to shut his most petty critics up. :moon2:

I hope he sticks to his word and helps brings a Super Bowl and MVP here. We've suffered enough heartbreak to get our time under the sun.

  4. There's no doubt that Vince has taken a huge step forward this year. I had pretty much written him off, but I'm happy with his progress this year.

All that said, it's a long way for him to go to be a top NFL QB. Right now, he's a solid starter. The last game is one of those games that shows that he's not ready today to be a QB who wins you a Super Bowl. He's still too inconsistent when teams force him to throw. And if we didn't have an elite RB like Chris Johnson that forced defenses to focus on him, Vince wouldn't have even had the level of success he has shown this year.

Vince is certainly the starter next year. After that, we'll have to wait and see.

Great Post Gut it kills me that a Qb has one bad game out of 9 and people question his abilities. What you wont out of a young Qb is a guy who shows improvement over the years and anybody with 2 eyes can see the improvement VY has made. I have been negative on VY and all but what I see is a guy that is working on his craft I actually think the sky is the limit for the guy. I had no hope for him this year and yes I actually believed KC gave us the best chance to win but I was wrong. Vy has played good ball I keep hearing fans say he hasn't beat elite teams the Colts are 14-0 and the Chargers are 11-3 so who has beat these teams. What people fail to realize there are only a handful of elite Qb's. We need to build the defense to championship level and go from there. I live in Ny and there a lot of fans who think the Giant's can do better than Eli I think he is a good young Qb but Im not the majority.:grrr:

    Noooooooo!!!

This is what we can't do. This is what makes QB's like Vick and Young fail. No gimmicky plays. I believe coaches get mobile QB's like Young and Vick and immediately imagine the possibilities of creating mismatches using their legs with rollouts and such. The QB's presence alone creates mismatches, but when you have a QB running out of the pocket for gimmicky plays, you have a QB throwing on the run most of the time, and this hurts the success rate of those throws. Haven't you noticed how much more comfortable Young is standing in the pocket?

I was very critical of Young early in the season, but he has made huge strides this season. The thing is, I don't believe he is even close to peaking, judging by the progress he makes almost weekly, and I'm excited to see him continuing to make progress, and what he can do for this team.

    Yep.....Vince needs more tools.

Like maybe a defense that can hold a quality opponent to less than 24 points. Or maybe a coach who plays to win instead of simply trying to avoid losing.

I agree Gut. I always enjoy your posts and it takes me a good 10 minutes to read them, but it's not a bad thing with yours!

I was a homer...been a Texas fan (and a Houston Oilers) fan since I was about 4 years old. So naturally I wanted VY to do well, but I had just about given up on him after last year. I am pleased with all he's done this year and if he can continue to improve, the sky is the limit. One thing I noticed after the loss - he didn't pout and talk under his breath...no, he took responsibility like a man.

I think we're going to have an interesting offseason. I honestly don't know if Fisher will be around. Although I too have grown tired of the same old play not to lose mentality, I must admit I'm a bit weary of getting rid of Fisher. Mostly because I don't know who we'd get in return. If it were Cowher or Chucky or someone of that caliber, I'b be all for it. But bringing in a dumbsh%t like Mangini or Schwartz would be a huge step backwards. Needless to say our roster will be different next season as well...going to be interesting. I pray we don't see KB in purple and black next year....

GREAT RECAP DUDE FROM NY,NY! :) Our offense is in very good shape! Keep VY and you'll see a MONSTER offense next year!

    However some changes needed:
CHANGE OFFENSE. :spud: Only little changes are needed. One is: why not continue the use of the option? With VY and CJ we should use them to create havoc for defenses and the option does this. Also, no more of these half-hearted run plays up the gut. Our OC needs to try it a few times one way then modify it. CJ lost so many opportunities because of 'Dinger's lack of analysis and creativity.

CHANGE DEFENSE. :dead: Any one who watched the boys play, with eyes wide open, could see that our "D" is in serious trouble and has been for quite some time! We are VERY young in our depth chart and growin' OLD in our starters. We need to bring in some experienced TOP CALIBER players in DL and LB. With a serious pass rush we could vastly improve our secondary's performance.

Additionally, we need NEW thinking on the DC's part. I don't think Mr. Cecil gets it.

CHANGE SPECIAL TEAMS. We need a change on Special Teams! How can we go so wrong here after running so many different parts through our system and getting no where? Could it be the coach? Is there a need to change out Coach Lowery who's been with the team since 1996?

    CHANGE HEAD COACH? HUMMMMMMMMMMMMM?!?
