All the projections I've heard have him going in the 3rd round. But you're probably right. He's clearly got talent and seems to be a hard worker, which can go far.

He's a very good all purpose back. Not sure on his speed, but Emmitt didn't have speed either and it never hurt his production. The key is for him to go to a team who wants a guy to carry the rock 20-25 times and wear the other guys down and bust some in the 4th quarter. Lots of teams can use a guy like that. I bet he does no worse than 2nd round to a team that needs what he offers.

Speaking of the Texans- there's another guy Gerhart reminds me of: Chris Brown.

You are aware this guy played in the PAC 10 right?
He ran for 200 yards or more aganst Washington (they were 6-1 at the time), Oregon (won the PAC 10 and playing in the Rose Bowl) and Notre Dame.
He had 178 yards against USC.

I agree his competition wasn't SEC caliber but he ran for over 1700 yards in a pretty good conference.

He has attributes that do well in the NFL. Good balance, vision and the ability to break tackles. In the NFL the most important factor is being able to move the chains and this guy is that kind of runner.

"SEC caliber" defenses didn't look so hot this year and took a dive in numbers.

He ran for 223 against oregon, 205 against notre dame and 178 against USC.

He had 136 in the bowl game vs Oklahoma.

He ran against everybody in a conference where Stanford is often 2nd tier. You can't say that the Stanford offensive line is loaded with studs.

Gloat's self hating white guy line is getting tired. Go to therapy!

Not sure how a white guy is supposed to run but i don't see any difference in how this guy runs and how lendale white ran at USC except white had a better line and reggie bush.

Other so called big backs for comparison..

    Michael Bush NFL backup..

Tony Hunt 2 thousand yard seasons for Penn State the 3rd rd pick was a total bust for the eagles.

TJ Duckett underachiever who never came close to a thousand yard season while showing flashes of talent. 44 career TDs.
