I'm appalled at the lack of depth in our entire defense, aside from the line. Jeff just thought he could stroll into a season with NO players behind the starters? I mean lets not kid ourselves...Geral McRath? He's looked all right in his limited playing time, but he's not about to step in and be anything other then the Nick Harper of our LB corps. Tulloch will have to step up in a major way for this team not to just fall apart on defense.

This is probably the end of KB as a Titan.
What I would do in the draft is, Draft McClain to be MLB, Move tully to OLB and let McGrath take over for Thorton.
for CB, I think Mouton or McCourty be good at taking over for Nick, McCourty is big for a CB and has good speed, maybe he could be the eventual replacement of Hope? Who knows.
Our D-Line has crazy depth, the problem is all are most average players. But could be Most dominant as a group, if J.Jones can stay healthy I would try him out at e D end takin over KVB's spot. - Resign Brown. Sen'derrick marks should step up to be starter as the other DT, and Ford as a pass rush specialist.

DLine should look like this facing Offense

    Ford - Brown - Marks - Jones.

    my 2 cents. :moon2:

this really hurts our chances against the bolts. the offense gonna have to be running on all 8 cylinders!
man #53's injury is bad news. I was really looking forward to see him play live Friday night . I hope he gets re-signed as he has played so consistant his whole career. if anyone deserves it-it's Mr. Monday Night!

Horrible, horrible news. I'm so saddened by this. I loved this guy. Loved watching him play. I got sick to my stomach when he went down in the game. I hope he makes a full recovery and hopefully, returns to as a Titan next season.

McCourtney had his chance to play when finny was out and couldn't cover his own shadow. Mouton couldn't cover anyone as the NB. I have little faith in them. We need to use a day one pick on a CB.

Gary Brackett is a guy i like of he is available as a free agent. Brackett in the middle with tulloch as the SAM and mcgrath on the weak side gives us a trio of guys who can run and stuff the run.

Bulluck was one of my favorite titans of this past decade!!! He always played with heart, and its sad to see him go like this , im hoping we resign him! He was an emotional leader of the defense!!!

The Titans only have a single day one pick. I'm not so sure CB is the biggest need (or that there will be one to take in the middle of the round 1 without reaching).

two things. i cant remember but shouldn't we have been running a three corner back set with only two linebackers on the dolphins last drive of the game? does anyone know how many plays we actually had another linebacker in for KB?

An injury to one of the if not our greatest defensive players is never good. But the one way i look at it, is we could go with only two linebackers and fuller starting. He is actually a safety so he should be able to tackle pretty decent. As well if they see a third DB in maybe they will run it more in turn not getting harper burnt.

We've got a rising star in Tully, and it's looking like the same in McGrath. I have no idea what we've got in Keglar - but we're about to find out.

Too soon to say that KB definitely won't be back, but as much of a hit it is to lose a guy like that we do have a relatively solid young LB group.

What we do know is that the D line is still missing a solid run stuffer, and our edge pass rushers could be improved. IMO, Harper is the weakest link on defense - with no reliable depth behind him... so that puts CB at the top of my draft list, with DT/DE coming next. We can find a LB in later rounds or in FA to fit within our system.

This could be the end of Bulluck in Tennessee. The reason I say this is because whats been his biggest attribute to our team the past 10 years? It's that he can be counted on, and doesn't miss time. Now he's missing the most important time of his career because of an injury. Something that is foreign to him and the Titans. He's been the most underrated linebacker in the NFL for over 8 years, and now is being forced to watch his successor from the sidelines. It'll leave a bad taste in his mouth making him hungrier than ever, but his first major injury and a younger guy who's doing well. I don't like how this may end for Keith. He's our defenses QB, and is a fun player to have. If the inevitable departure is a reality for us and Keith following the 2009 season, then at least McRath is getting some huge experience right now for the future.
