Actually, I always thought Vince's best ball were his deep ones. He could generally hit people in the 20-30 range, especially over the middle. His fades, deep post, and deep post corners were abysmal though. Lots of under-thrown balls. But there is a lot of moving parts on the deep ball, and its not like he had any speed with his receivers.

His short game short to mid-range game was absolutely atrocious though, and I think, even after today, it's still his best area of improvement. I'm under the impression that he was not quite back from that injury, he was trying to do too much with his arm and he didn't step into his throws very well, which makes sense if your back foot push-off is weak.

He has finally learned to throw into the blitz, which is a lesson that every successful QB needs to learn, and the Colts game was the only one where I thought Vince was trying to force balls.

I'd like to see him keep his eyes down field a bit better, but he's honestly doing pretty well at it. He's not Rothlisberger, but he's coming along.

It's been a while since I've had the confidence in our passing game that I felt today when VY drops back, even with the pedestrian completion %. If we can consistently keep this offense on schedule, punish defenses for keying in on CJ all day, and this offense will be extremely dangerous. I'd honestly like to see a pro-style 2HB set out of this offense, and it's a crime against humanity that we can't seem to get lendale, CJ, and VY on the field at the same time. Also, with Hall at FB, the Full-House formation was made for exactly our personnel.

He also worked for CBS before coming out of retirement to play for the Ravens...

...but let's not allow facts to get in the way of our angry emotions toward someone...

I really think Mike Heimerdinger is doing a great job with Vince understanding the defense. VY had norm chow who really was not that good, and now with heimerdinger he is finally passing well, and I think these two can take the team really far.

Going into this week, Vince was 5th in QB rating in the AFC, and would be higher than that if we could put some glue on Nate's hands. That's pretty damn good. Agree that some of the short passes to the flats is where he has some room for easy improvement.

Once again we got a loose hater running around. Vince is better and better with every game he plays. Even when he loses he's improving. No he's not Rivers, Brady, or Manning, but he's on that next level, and on the rise.

So everyone who wanted to throw Vince under the bus, last year, is now ready to be his best friend?

I guess all Fish has to do is wait until this time next year when CJ only has 900 yards rushing. Then all will be forgiven with Fish. And everyone who wanted Vince's and Fish's heads these past two seasons will be out to get CJ.

    Vince is McNair, part 2.

Steve always had an arm, but it took him a while to learn to put all the pieces together. Eventually Steve turned into a complete QB, able to throw the deep ball, manipulate DBs and LBs with his eyes, fire a bullet into a tight space, and just throw it away when there just was nothing open.

McNair owed his development into a pocket passer to Dinger, and we're seeing it all unfold again. But VY seems to be picking it up a little quicker. Will he ever be Brees or Manning? Who cares - he doesn't need to be. If he becomes as good or better than Steve we can win a SB.
