I had my doubts but I am a transformed believer the Titans can make it without him. There, I said it!

Oh the Titans won two or three games last year without Big Al. And you're right, they're just fine without him. :)

I still think he'd be a great asset to the defense we have today, but he's definitely not worth $100M though.

I think our offense has been just as responsible for our recent wins as our defense. I still think we would be better on the field with Big Al, but in much worse salary cap shape.

In the end, it's better that somebody else gave him his huge payday.

i bet haynesworth makes a one game difference in our record, putting us in line for a playoff spot.

I dont know about "needing" him..but he would certainly have been an asset to this D-Line. However even with that said..he isnt worth what he's being paid.

Big Al would be helping us this year if the Titans had resigned him, so for this year it would be a "win" to have him on the roster. But as he gets older and becomes less effective, (and misses more games to injury), all while taking up more cap space each successive year, his signing would have become a "net loss". I think we'll win more games in the future without Big Al because of the financial flexibility not signing him will afford us.

More games are won and lost in the draft, and in free agent signings, than in any other part of the game of football. I really believe that.

True, but they have the 1st ranked pass defense, and we have the 31st...

Us having the 31st pass defense is a facade. It isn't the result of the secondary we are fielding now.

Washington also fielded a top ten run defense last season. Where's that run defense now? What should Haynesworth have the most effect on? From what I've seen, Haynesworth is not the player he was here the last two seasons.
