    And Harper does?

Harper has to be the slowest starting corner in the league

this is true. and while some argue harper has the experience to cover for it; so does hood now. he is entering his prime and showing promise in our system.

people try to argue that a player is not good based on his past; which well most of it. but the system/scheme he is in has a lot to do with it. throw court in indy's zone cover 2 D and an all pro might suck. this guy is hot and ive been watching he hasnt made any big mistakes. good players can come out of nowhere in this league, every1 knows this.

people should be happy we picked him up and hope that the team is hiding him till harpers contract runs out to keep him for cheap and give him a chance next year (we do that kind of thing) because thats really all i can think of right now. (this is harpers contract year)

I expect the Titans will sign Hood to a one-year at least and let him come to camp next year.

I know for a fact he isn't the slowest corner in the league, but he's damn slow for a corner. Anthony Henry of the Lions is the sloooowest mofo I have ever witnessed play DB. He's slower than a lot of 2nd string safeties. I cant for the life of me figure how he retains his job. It is the Lions thou.

If Hood was faster he would have an edge. They have near identical 40 times. (4.43 Harper,4.47 Hood) Harper is a sure tackler, has seniority, etc. Hood is heavier, slower, doesn't have a better vertical jump... Do you know what the difference is? You're more familiar with Harper. That's all. Hood has come in and done some great things. I really like the guy... but I've seen this before. You take a guy off the street, sign him and then all of a sudden he plays like a pro bowler... it happens. But there's a reason the guy was on the street. He's not a different player all of a sudden. This dude has been cut by two teams this season. (Bears, Browns) If he was all that he'd still be a Cardinal.

Those are Harper's and Hood's combine numbers. 2000,2003 respectfully. Yeah, they may be from 6 and 9 years ago but they probably aren't that different today. In a foot race they would probably run even... that means they are both equally slow if you want to call one slow. I don't really see why you're picking so hard at this. Guys off the street are there for a reason. While I like what Hood brings in depth if he was truly a starter he would still be one in Arizona. I'm glad the guy made some plays for us but honestly, he's not all that. If he was, don't you think someone would have at least drafted him? Why did the Eagles watch him walk away? Why did the Cardinals think better of the contract they offered him and cut him? Why weren't the Bears and Browns showing him any interest? Haven't you ever seen a guy come in and play outstanding in relief? It's an aberration, nothing more. If Harper goes down for good and Hood starts you'll be calling for him to be cut in no time.

Yes... they are very different. Harper is not a man to man corner, he never has been. He has even stated himself that he doesn't like to play man to man. Hood allows the Titans to play man to man and blitz more often.... so SEC 330, there is a big difference.

    context...:?: different?
I was talking about speed and I don't see anything that makes a difference in terms of speed. Watch where you springboard because I wasn't talking about anything schematic.

Hood in man? Ever wonder why Harper prefers zone? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't man for the fleet of foot? How does Hood allow the Titans to play man? Because he is almost or as fast as Harper?

Harper has spent nearly all his career as a cover 2 corner, thats shallow zone. Hood is more capable of playing man to man. It is no secret that Harper has slowed down significantly, not saying he is a scrub, but I would rather stick with Hood. Though, Harper is very good in run support. However, using combine stats is useless because think... do you think Chris Johnson will be a 4.2 runner 7 years from now? Doubtful.
