Simple to put it, its the NFL, QB's are not rated on wins, they are rated on PCT's and ratios.

Vince being 21-11, means almost nothing in the eyes of most viewers, because he is not throwing up 250+ yards or 3+ TD's while doing it. Do I think he can? Not sure, Titans dont have an offense where the QB should be throwing up those numbers.

I hate doing the comparison...but Vince has been 4 and 0 in 4 games, with a 3-1 TD/INT ratio but only avg 103 yds passing......where as Cutler(I know I know) is 1-3 with 15-18 TD/INT ratio, where his only win was against Cleveland and he didnt even have a TD in that game.

But Cutler avgs. over 250+ yds passing, its just that majority of his passes now go to the wrong team.

But still 8 out of 10 commentators will still say they want Cutler over Young...because Cutler has the throwing arm.

If you are still unable to say anything positive about VY after the past 4 weeks then you are an irrational hater, plain and simple. So obviously yeah, some people just flat out don't like the guy and probably never will no matter how successful he becomes. I honestly think a lot of people refuse to get over the Jacksonville debacle from last year. As retarded as that may be, it is what it is.

Define deep into the playoffs. Does he have to just do it once? Peyton Manning has gotten out of the first round of the playoffs only three times in his entire career. That is out of nine trips to the playoffs. What a loser!

People need to realize that Vince will never be a great pocket quarterback. He will always be the Yin to Manning or Bradys' Yang, much like McNair was when he and Peyton were co-MVP. Anyone who watched McNair that year and the year prior to that would tell you that he was the most valuable player in the league those two years. Peyton wasn't even in the same league as him. Sometimes you have to let go of the stat sheet and trust your eyes.

Will Vince ever reach the level that McNair achieved in his prime? No one can answer that question. Only time will tell.

I remember a time when the Great Manning went through a good bit of criticism... he could put up big numbers, but always choked when it counted. Trusted his arm too much. Every QB goes through it, and the only way to end it is to win, keep winning, and then win some more.

VY is looking much improved and is on his way to silencing his critics. But 4 solid games is not quite enough to prove everyone wrong. For the record, I am starting to believe in VY again - but it will take years to really silence all the talk. He's going to have to keep it up this year. Then come back next year and do it again, year after year. McNair did it and finally earned respect, but it takes years. VY is off to a decent start.

Bottom line is this... people will NEVER give VY any respect unless he wins a Super Bowl AND puts up good numbers doing so. Think about it, he is the atypical QB, the style nobody thinks "fits" in the NFL. Well who cares... the NFL used to not have "small" RB's either (MJD, CJ, Sproles, etc) and now they are running wild on the NFL and have completely changed the "small RB's don't 'fit' the NFL RB profile" stereotype that's been around forever until just recently. Well, VY winning a Super Bowl with "his style" of play would go a long way to changing that stereotype that he doesn't "fit as an NFL QB".

Do I think he will win a Super Bowl, only time will tell. Do I think VY can continue to improve and win games and get us there? YES, I do! But ONLY if the supporting cast and coaches around him use him to his strengths. Dinger is doing wonders designing the offense around VY and CJ this year, and with Britt, Cook, Ringer, etc we could have an explosive offense for many years to come as long as they stay committed to using the players and personnel they have to their strengths.

VY grew up while riding the pine these last 2 years. It's his time to lead, and win games. I personally don't care how he does it as long as we WIN THE GAME! That's the whole point of playing is to win, and with VY we are winning, regardless of what his stats look like or if they "fit" the stereotypical NFL QB. It's been a fun 4 weeks, and will only get better. If you are a Titans fan, be happy we are winning, and see VY for what he is and cheer for him. Just because he doesn't "fit" your profile of an NFL QB doesn't mean he can't be great in his own way.

That's just ignorant. Vince is already getting plenty of credit and respect. You had a former NFL QB(Jaws) and a former super bowl winning coach(Gruden) praising him constantly. Who was bashing him at espn last night?

As for winning a super bowl EVERY QB is expected to do that. Why should vince be any different?

I think thats the point of this thread. Kerry Collins as a Titan never put up flashy QB numbers. He's averaged about 150 pass yards a game with a TD as a Titan yet he was praised and given a new contract with a "promise" of being the starter. If Young averages 150 yards with a TD people call him a terrible QB.

Is that a retro post? In reality 9 of 10 people would rather have vince since cutler has sucked so bad. Which commentator still likes cutler? The commentators last night were giving vince all kinds of praise. Didn't you hear it?

Why make up an issue that doesn't exist? At the beginning of the year many thought cutler was the real deal but not after how he has played.

Who calls vince terrible for only passing for 150 yards? Name them. Are you making that up?

I know few commentators and analysts who are so superficial they praise yardage over effectiveness. All QBs are expected to win.

FYI kerry averaged 186 a start last year and vince is averaging 155 this year. Don't you remember people bashing kerry for only having 12 TDs?

Thanks to fisher and KFC you'll likely to have to wait another year.

    0-1 is terrible anyways
