If it had been the same or even one game better, i.e 1-5 at the bye then there would have been pressure to pull Vince and put in Kerry. So that obviously wouldn't have been desirable either. Frankly I think this is about the best way it could have been handled. You can't really put VY in at 0-2 when the Steelers are tough and all the special team defense issues. And at 0-3 he would be facing jags and Colts/Patriots with injuries and that wouldn't have been good for his confidence.

So by waiting until the bye Vince got more work with practice and more importantly had easier first couple of games back to build confidence and get back into the swing of things.

That's exactly what we've all been saying, so stfu and get back to worship!

Seriously, if VY had started from the beginning, each game would've played out differently. The offense would've had different production and the defense and special teams would've ended up in different situations. Some maybe worse, some might be better. We could try to nitpick specific drives or plays, but what would the point be?

Based on Vince's 3-0 performance so far this season, I do not believe we would've started 0-6 with Vince in as a starter. It's all hypothetical, but that's my opinion.

I think Vince is doing OK and the next two or three might help answer the question had he started every game.

Last year Collins did pretty well when he had a line that protected him, which was about all he asked. He certainly did not have elite receivers.

Vince helps a line that is not excellent, though it looks like the whole teamhad been playing better with him.

I think it possible to have 3 wins with him, and Colts and Brady could have beat anyone the way they were playing. I would imagine they were chomping at the bit to get to us.

All in all, I see it like this.

We would have definitely beat Pittsburgh with Vince because our D was playing with some serious enthusiasm coming in. Vince is like Tony Robbins when it comes to getting his teammates amped up. You can see it from everybody on the team. Vince and CJ make us feel like winners not some stupid #18 colts jersey.

We would've romped on the Jets too. Houston would've been toast. Jags would've gotten stomped. @ NE in those conditions, they still would've beat us because Moss and Welker were just toying with us.

So in all honesty, I have to say that we'd be a nice and comfortable 8-1 having beat Indy, Houston, Jax in Nashville, and winning on the road in the opener in Pittsburgh, and in NY over the Jets. And still getting embarrassed in NE but not as bad. We wouldn't have gotten shut out, that's for sure.

I'm getting to the point after dealing with y'all that I'll be happy if we finish above you in the AFC standings.

5-4. Can't fix a defense that leaked like a sieve the first 6 weeks of the year.

Kerry's passing rating was 90 in the texans game so anyone who thinks vince was going to do better has their heads where the sun don't shine.

And how in the hell could vince have motivated the team more against the steelers? The super bowl champs in the first game?

Maybe he could have made a difference in the jets game. Maybe.

The texans game was there for the taking, Kerry had a good first half but thats about it. The 2nd half began tied and the Titans had 7 possessions, 4 of the first 6 were the 3 and outs, with the others being a CJ td on 3rd and 9 and a turnover on downs after failed 4th down attempt. The last drive of course ended with Kerry fumbling on his own.

But i guess i must have my head where the sun don't shine for thinking that's not enough to win.
