Harper has had his issues but let's remember that Hood has faced the Jags, Niners and Bills which are less than stellar passing teams.

It's all fairly relative. Harper has been burned, but then again, so has every other member of our secondary at some point this year. Griffen has had a terrible season, why are none of the knee-jerkers calling for him to sit? Hope? Same story.

KamikaZ made a point that coaches should make exceptions to their rules... well, isn't that what he did with Young last season when he rode the hot hand with Kerry?

This can go back and forth so many ways, I'm surprised that so far the commentary is so one-sided. I understand that people are frustrated with the slow start, but that doesn't mean that EVERY call that Fisher makes is a bad one.

We'll see how it goes. Harper has sat a long time with this injury, probably because of Hood's play, at least in part. If nothing else, it's great to have some depth back.

I'm not sure how I feel about harper immediately getting the job back after how hood has been playing

I think more though i'd be upset if harper plays horribly and he's still starting 2-3 weeks later

Probably because.. Well, who's the backups to Griffin and Hope? Donnie Nickey? Yeah I'll take my chances with Griffin. Fuller? One could make a case for him to take over one of the safety spots while letting both harper and hood stay the primary 3 CB spots. But I think I'd rather keep Fuller at nickelback where he's shown that he can play good.

Thing is, Hood has made a case for himself to start before Harper, whereas Nickey hasn't shown anything that would make him the better starter above Griffin.

Harper is a huge liability against Houston. Hood has earned his playing time with good play. Harper can't cover to save his life and trying to take on the likes of Andre Johnson, not good.

I don't have anything against Harper but the guy just can't cover.

You cant bench your starter cause he got injured and another guy played well.

Once Harper gets healthy and cannot get the job done then Fisher wont have a problem letting Rod Hood start.

    True.

We would hope at least, but we also know how stubborn Fish can be.
