Very true. But when it was needed, Collins found a way to beat both the Ravens and Bears. The jury is still out as to whether or not Young can do this.

To me, whether Young is any kind of long-term answer at QB for the Titans isn't a home game where the defense gets two picks and CJ runs for over 200 yards. It's going to be how he deals with adversity when defenses do a better job slowing CJ and Young has to make some plays with his arm.

But I totally agree that the winning formula for the Titans will always be good defense and a running game with the QB "a manager" more than the "main cog".

I brought that exact question up in another thread.
"How well will Vince handle it when he gets picked?"
    and
"How well will he do when he is put into a situation where he has to win the game for us?"

Agree totally. But I'd also like Vince to have the ability to win the game for us when everything breaks down.
To me, that's why EVERY player should be putting forth their ALL; they should cover their teammates and know that their teammates will cover them. Anyone at anytime can have a bad day and when that happens, it's up to your mates to pick up your slack. Likewise if one of your mates is having a bad day, you pick up their slack. Every player should know and live by this; McNair was the poster boy for this mentality.

What I like about Vince is the fact that on EVERY play he has to be accounted for. With Kerry it was simply bring a rush on 3rd down and he would throw it away so it was easy to game plan for Kerry. Just spying on Vince isn't enough. They have to commit their defense to Vince running it or somebody else running every play unless its 3rd and long and sometimes even then the defense would have too. Vince and CJ keep the defenses VERY honest. Also, like I said on the chat board during the game; Vince and CJ got the spark going and the rest of the team was out there having a blast on the field, they were smiling from ear to ear and thats such a good thing for a team that was 0-6. We have to remember sometimes that the players not only need whatever it is just to win but to also just go out there and have a good time playing the game they love which also breeds passion and determination

And that is why CJ had 200+ rushing. With KC at QB, we might have 75 total. At least the threat of VY running for yards will open up the running game.

Are you seriously typing that out and believing it? So You are saying that Vince accounted for 150 of CJ's yards?

    Good grief.

Just about right on the money with that statement. See, I think last seasons success was from people preparing for Young (even though he wasn't a factor during games). But then when Young didn't play, it threw people off (still allowing the running attack). Once teams realize Vince isn't a factor they can focus solely on Chris Johnson. Which is exactly what they were doing this season, because no one in the world respects Kerry Collins.
