“The time has come”, the Walrus said….”To speak of many things. Of ship and shoes and sealing wax. Of Cabbages and Kings!”

On Saturday, just before this last game, I made some comments that were ridiculed by some on this board. Some inferred that I was a ‘Fair Weather Fan’. Some inferred that I was bragging as to some insight into the locker room.

Let’s just look at a couple of comments I made BEFORE this game (if you can call it that):

    1. “Fisher has been alluding to 'his' talks with the team being between him and the team. He shuts off discussion and is 'hiding' something. He and the other 'coaches' have made statements that provide them cover, but are symptomatic of the 'problem'.

The PLAYER's have HAD IT with the Coaches and maybe the management. Even the rookies can see and sense it. It is stupid, just stupid, to think that any professional football player cannot evaulate the TALENT of their own team. They KNOW when the QB, TE, Center or Secondary are playing bad.... BAD!!!! The Coaches and Management don't get it. The PLAYERS are the only ones that can execute playcalls. So, when they don't understand the playcalls, the strategy and the phobic drive to play to NOT LOSE, they give up.

Let us not be fooled by the pap put out for public consumption to the press. That's all it is Pablum for the dumb. (Nor should we listen to any apologist for the Team right now.)

The real problem is in the locker room between Coach Fisher and Dinger. As far as Cecil is concerned...no one really respects or trusts him. All of these Coaches have trashed their team to the fans and the NFL and thrown individual players under the bus.

In manufacturing....we would see a 'slowdown' if management did this to the workers. Others may call it 'working to the clock'. (If they are told to play zone, they do it; if they are told to play man, they do it; even if they know it's wrong.) Until Bud stands up and make his decisions, OR....until Fisher does a 'mea culpa' and take the team in another direction, or until dinger puts VY (yes VY) in to settle once and for alll his talents......and until the 'cecil problem' is settled......NOTHING WILL CHANGE. (Some have tried to say VY is still no good because he is put in and the game is already lost as proof! How dumb do these folks think we are?)

I've loved my Titans since the first game we went to in the Liberty Bowl. We've lived and died with every game for all these years. We bought PSL's and have had Season Tickets ever since the Liberty Bowl. But for heavens sake....someone has got to address the '800 lb gorilla in the room'. We paid for our PSL's, we buy our season tickets, we buy the jerseys, and other things Titan, we go to every game, we freeze our tails off, we cheer, we make excuses, we rally. All for the TEAM and the PLAYERS/Coaches. Every one want's to play nice! NICE does not win games!

Bud should give the ultimatum that this season will be turned around...NOW! or there will be no NEXT SEASON for Many of the Coaches and Management STAFF!!!!!!!” (Hummmmmm, very prophetic!)

    2. “Losing is unpleasant. The facts are the facts. Coaches and Management hiding behind quotes that they have voiced over the past few years are more and more becoming known.

There IS trouble in the locker room. Does anyone doubt that. Those that speak out are immediately taken to task. The answer.....win some games! The "Fair Weather Fans"? They are nonexistant. It's only a 'true blue' fan that is trying to point out the obvious facts to those that don't want to hear anything negative.

Folks....the season is almost lost. I may not be around for a winning season at this rate, so I feel that I have a right to point out what others are 'dancing' around. We have a LOCKER ROOM and a COACH problem.

Bud needs to take action post haste.”

Just today, at the 3:00PM press conference, Fisher threw his whole Defense under the bus for Cecil. Shame, Shame.

We have been loyal fans since the “NFL Yes” days. The Liberty Bowl and Dudley Field days. PSL owners and Season Tickets all those years. So we feel qualified to comment.

At 73 years old and not in the best of health, Bud and I may not have that many years left to WAIT!!!!!! Each game, each year is important to us.

Each point I made BEFORE the game was proved out. Only Fisher and Mike and Cody won’t say so. They are paid to be quiet. The team didn’t want to play. They tip-toed down the field while the Pat’s ran. They dropped ball, while the Pat’s caught them. They fumbled and missed tackles and got cold while the Pat’s caused fumbles, made tackles and loved the cold.

DOES ANYONE DOUBT THAT THE TEAM HAS QUIT ON THESE COACHES. FORGET LAST YEAR, FORGET ‘THIS IS THE NFL’ COMMENTS. WE ARE IN THE HERE AND NOW. And the Coaches have brought this on themselves.

It's time to get real and take off the 'Rose Colored Glasses'. There is a big problem and it's not any individual player or age or position. It's bigger and more basic than that.

Classic Army Game at play here. Do only what you are told to do, when you are told to do it, and do not "think" for yourself.

To echo a fellow poster - Want to Win, Put Vince In!

Your post was lengthy and personal, and I really enjoyed the read.

Also just read Riverman's post about being at the game and the player's clearly "quitting" before opening kickoff.

The "bigger" problem is that as an organization we have mistreated our players and all the players in the NFL are on to it.

You can't have Godfrey take a paycut and then release him. You can't lock Steve McNair out of the facilities. We've let so many great players walk because "they get overpaid".

It shouldn't surprise anyone that Bulluck would say "I won't be a Titan next year" before this season. Why would he think that was even a possibility given our history?

As far as the coaches, I don't know what happened, but clearly the players are not buying into their stuff. The players are not ready to play these games, we are not prepared.

I wish Bud would go ahead and clear house now, and forget waiting. Fire the coaches, trade a few players for next year draft picks.

Folks, we are at a cross-roads that 'we' have never seen in Titan (Oiler) history. I have confidence that Bud has made a decision and is not fooled either. He is an astute business man and a longggg time NFL owner. He is making his moves right now, just as sure as any 'Godfather' might make. It is just a matter of time. I have hope that we will come out of this. He may have to wait a little while to see the outcome of the 'Union' talks and new Contracts options.

We will be using our 3 PSL/Season Tickets for the rest of this year. We will cheer the team and boo bonehead calls. As was said on the "Talk Back" show after the game. All bets are off right now. Be careful what you hear. Read between the lines!!!!

Dumb Question: During the game, Jeff threw the red flag to challenge a catch.

Anyone reviewing the video, could clearly see that the catch was an inbounds catch.

Why, did he waste a challenge? The rest of the game was a non-Jeff game from the TV camera's view. This seemed very strange to me!!!!!

As much as this sucks this is where we earn the right to be fans. This is where WE put in the work of continuing to show up and cheer for a poor team. Being a fan is like a marriage to me, sickness and health, for richer or poorer.

As much as this sucks it will be worth it when we win again. We'll feel like we've earned it as much as the players have. This team is the closest thing to religion I'll ever have and I guess this is the "faith" part. No matter what this team throws at me I'll keep coming back.

GO TITANS! 10 games left for improvement!

Fans are not stupid. We just tend to go knee-jerk because we put so much emotion into our teams.

But we have everyone from ex-players to professional analyst all saying the same thing: "the team quit".

Regardless of whether this is a character issue among the players or a total lack of faith in the coaches, Fisher has to be willing to admit to some realities. Maybe he's taking a different approach in the locker room but there's nothing to indicate he's not in total denial of what is happening.

So, to me, we have two issues:

    1. Fisher's denial that his team lacks intensity or heart and even quit on Sunday.
    2. He's not doing what is needed to get better play out of a talented team which points to his team's lack-of-faith in the coaching staff.

Either one of these are solid reasons to replace him if he doesn't get better production against Jacksonville. If he doesn't, then Bud is wrong to wait until the end of the season to make a change because, at that point, it sends the message even the owner no longer cares.

Jacksonville is not a very good team right now. If Jeff can't find a way to be competitive with a 2 week window to prepare............

Coach Fisher knows exactly what is going on with the team and coaches. What Jeff won't do is discuss it with the media. You won't ever catch Jeff slipping and saying inappropriate things to the media. When he says anything about a player to the media, it's calculated. Remember the mess with the former quarterback that ended up in San Diego, can't thing of his name right now. Anyway, Fisher came came out to the media how he didn't trust him and publicly questioned his character. Now one believed that mess.

The team didn't quit, per se. No a guy on that roster wants to be 0-6. Not a guy on that team is making mistakes on purpose. I'll try my best to explain it....you are a good employee and are loyal to the company. However your supervisor and management shows no loyalty to their employees and continues to screw them. Despite past history, things continue to remain the same. All the employees have voiced their opinion and have asked that a certain person be given the job as team leader. Management ignores their employees and continue with the current team leader.

When employees' are treated like they are dumb, their concerns are ignored, then they start simply going through the motions. I know that a good number of the players have not quit or laid down. They are going to ball 'til they fall. If you are given plays to execute that you know won't work, what do you do? You execute the play that you are given.

Every player in the locker room who is cool with Vince knows that he is getting screwed. They strongly believe that Vince will be released at the end of this season. They feel that once the team went 0-3, why would you let Vince sit on the bench. Through it all, Vince did win games with his legs and was Rookie of the Year. At 0-3, they feel that Vince should be allowed to ball. Making that dramatic change would have given the team some hope. Remember Vince's rookie year when he was allowed to play when the season looked lost, and we almost made the playoffs had we beaten New England. Who can forget the afternoon when fans had left and Vince lead the team to beat the Giants in the fourth quarter. The last minute run in Houston against the Texans. Let this kid play!

Don't believe or say that the players gave up. They are frustrated and want change. Fans, please continue to come out and support the team, they need you.
