What saves Fisher? 6-10? 7-9?

I think VY has to be put in now. If nothing else, it tells the front office (Bud) whether or not to bother trying to rework his contract or just let him go before his next bonus. When Young is released, I think they'd allow Collins to stay to "compete" with whoever they bring in via free agency or the draft which means he'd be the #2 in 2010.

I don't see any huge changes coming along during mid-season because I don't see many options. No way they'll fire Fisher and Fisher is too loyal to replace any of his coaches right now. I hope we see a few vets being shopped but no one is going to break the bank for KVB or Bulluck. We may see someone come after Tony Brown or Tulloch and those are probably the only two players who will be free agents in March worth keeping.

I doubt we see much more of Kearse. I wouldn't be shocked to see less and less of KVB just so they know if Ford is starting material moving forward. I'm hoping we see more Ringer for the same reason. I'd also get Harris in there just to know if he's a long-term answer at C or G. I'm ready to see some of the younger LB talent step in and get some work. I also hope to see more Cook and less Crumpler/Scaife.

Blame Cecil all you want but this is Fisher's defense. Nothing would change if they moved McGinnis to DC. Finnegan and Fuller are back after the bye. The schedule gets easier. As long as CJ holds up, I think the Titans will squeeze out a few ugly wins before January.

I think Fisher is a dead man walking unless he can win seven of the last ten games and that ain't happening.

I think if Fishy wins the last 3 games he is safe. Bud will think things are looking better.

i hope we win a few but not the last few. Fisher needs to finish the year on a bad run to get the boot.

I'm gonna say he has to at least win 6 games this year and that would probably save him.

I'd also like to see more of Scaife and Cook on the field at the same time. Scaife is a good TE when he is on. Crumpler just needs to retire or he can play the 3rd TE on goal line plays. Not much good for anything else at this point.

KVB has shown he isn't as effective with out a big man in the middle to help him out. Even though he has helped the Titans out in the past, I believe we could do with out him and allow Ford/Ball to get their time in the spot light.

Kearse is pretty much done also.

I do hope we hang on to Tulloch and Bulluck.

I guess I should have just said I agree with your post...

It's possible that the end of the season gets no better... With the teams we face at the end of the season, they should be in playoff contention and we will just be another notch in the belt.

Fish is gone after this season. I'll be surprised if this team wins 4 games.

For Fisher to save his job, he will need to change his philosophy and bring in some outside help.

I agree. Fisher would need to make this team do a complete 180 to save his job and that just isn't realistically going to happen.
Also as someone else perfectly put it yesterday in another thread.... how do you keep a coach around next year whose team gave up on him this year?

I don't want to see Kearse in a Titans Uniform ever again! We gave his career a jump start after philly cut him! KVB should only be in on situational downs only. Please sit Harper down. I know of a great flag football league that Harper and Kearse can excel in. I think that Harris is our best option at center. Start Vince! We need to evaluate him (for the future or trade bait). Gage and Crumpler should be demoted to parking lot attendants! Last but not least, give Washburn a shot at DC for the remainer of the year! Can't hurt.

I don't think he is safe at all. The CBS guys spoke with Fisher the night before the game, and he told them that he liked where the was coming into the game, and had a good week of preparation ... blah blah blah.

I don't know if he just laying the positive spin or if he really is that diluted.

    Time for a new broom.

I've been paying close attention to Kearse in September, and while he's a shell of his former self I'd still like him to remain on the team post this 09 debacle. He's a great teammate, and still gets behind the QB (just not to the QB). I truly believe this team needs an attitude adjustment right now. As for Fishers 09 campaign, the man needs more than three wins to stick around. You guys mention 6 or 7 wins keeps him. I think just 4 will do. There's 3 coming up against some weak teams and if we take those games and do what we should be doing then good, but that next win is the unknown. Ten to go, let's see whats going to happen.

Sadly, given Bud's comments yesterday, I think 5-5 after the bye would save him, not that it should. That being said, he'll need to win the final game against the Seahawks, which we traditionally have not been able to do.

I think it's going to be an ugly second half of the season, and a big clean out afterwards. Bulluck and KVB may have both sealed their ways out of town with the poor team showing and neither of them stepping up to motivate the defense. That being said, even a 6-10 or 7-9 finish would keep a lot of people in place, whether or not they deserve it.
