I'm not sure if this is the first time he's said this, but it was the first time I'd heard it and it really ticked me off.

It was during the TV broadcast Sunday night when NBC was introducing the Titans offense or rather letting the Titans offense introduce themselves and their alma matters. Scaife said: "Bo Scaife, the real UT."

This hacked me off beyond belief. What kind of jerk is Bo Scaife that he feels it necessary to take a cheap shot at the Vols and Vol fans in our home state!? Doesn't he realize that most Titan fans are also Vol fans? Why alienate the fans like that?

Both Texas and Tennessee are proud programs. Tennessee has six national titles. Texas has four. Both are among the winningest programs in NCAA history. Be proud of your school, Bo. Nothing wrong with that. But don't take cheap shots at the Vols on national television in Tennessee. That's just low class.

I heard him say that earlier in the season as well. I agree, it's pretty tacky.

It wasn't the first time he has said the real UT. It wasn't a cheap shot its just him representing his college and having fun with it and to him it is the real UT. Your reading into it too much

I remember Haynesworth saying the real UT once

If he'd said "Hook em Horns" or something like that, I wouldn't have batted an eye. I don't mind athletes giving respect to their universities. But Scaife's comment, intentional or not, crossed a line. He definitely lost at least one fan Sunday night.

touchy, aren't we? lol Who cares? And think about this: Mack Brown is from Cookeville, TN. His brother, Watson, coaches TTU. And half the men at the Alamo were from TN; Sam Houston, a great Texan, came from TN. In fact, one could say to Mr. Schaife that had it not been for TN, TX could still be part of Mexico and he would be speaking Spanish and living in a hut in Mexicali! Yeah, that's the ticket! :ha:

I'm not bothered by him saying "the Real UT". Like others said, he's just pumping up his former school. Maybe if Tennessee were playing Texas this week or if I'd gone to Tennessee I might care more, but I'm a Vols fan and didn't mind his comment. It's not like he said Tennessee Vols are losers or something.

Or he just has school pride...same way you would probably call the vols the real UT

I will say though, your reaction's better than the guy who said scaife deserved the knee injury in the pittsburgh game for saying that though

I really was pissed over that when I first heard it. But then, I remembered he isn't going to be here next year anyway so who cares.
