eh, our whole team sux bawls. its not like VY is going to win games by himself. putting him in will only provide the titans with more bargaining power to talk the contract down imo.

It's a pretty interesting theory. There seems to have some merit to it. I think we can all agree Fisher has no desire or intention to create a new offense around one player (VY). If VY were to play well it would certainly put pressure on the Titans to do something they don't want to do. If VY doesn't play at all, the Titans won't have to really justify their decision to let him go.

That being said, I highly doubt this is the motivation driving Fisher. If the Titans don't want VY in their future, the Titans won't have him. It's as simple as that. It doesn't really matter if he plays well or not.

It all seems to go back to Fisher doesn't want Vince. He didn't want him at the draft and he still doesn't.

Titans don't want to fork out 11 mil for VY so they're trying to avoid playing him in the light that if he does play well they'd have to explain not signing him.

In sum - Vince is due around 11 million or so next year but his contract is not guaranteed. Marshal Faulk and Warren Sapp opined that the Titans are not playing Vince because they don't want to give Vince a chance to become a good quarterback. If Vince shows that he is a decent quarterback, that would put pressure on the Titans to choose whether to invest in him again. Since the Titans have no desire for Vince to be the future, they don't want to have to make the choice.

In other words, if Vince doesn't play, the Titans can easily justify letting him go based on his performance to date.

My question is would the other players on the team want VY back as QB? Or has he lost the leadership role? Can he win the locker-room back? I think 0-5 makes you re-evealuate alot of things, but has VY's boat already sailed in TN and does he just need a fresh start elsewhere?

For no other reason I feel like we should play him this year to see if he's worth keeping around, one last shot I suppose. It would give the team a much needed change and possible spark and I'm certainly not a VY homer.
