Collins is clearly not suited to the pass happy offence we are running but is it his fault that we're running such an offence?

Just for mentioning #19 you can sleep in the yard tonight without a sleeping bag.:grrhee:

While Tashard is #3 on the depth chart, CJ is leading the league in rushing.

    Yep.

Which is relevant. Kind of like when Mike Turner was a backup in San Diego. Everyone was better than him.

There is a point to be made about getting positive yardage on 1st and 2nd down. With George we had a guy who would give you a conssitent 3-4 yards. Even though his average was only 3.5 he was consistent. On 3rd down you had 3rd and 5 or less.

With CJ we either get a 30 yard run or 0 or less yards. Then we end up with 3rd and 8.

That puts Collins at a disadvantage. We don't have the passing game to consistently convert when we have 3rd and long.

I don't agree that the new weapons have made the Titans more pass happy. They started passing more on 1st and 2nd down because they weren't getting decent yards running the ball on 1st and 2nd down.

Well then, you should have known that we didn't abandon the run after one series, or after being down by one score.

Got another agenda to support I see. Defense... That's what would keep Jacksonville from outscoring us so much. Lendale would have just made sure we had fewer plays, and therefore fewer opportunities to score points. I'm sure Lendale was being saved for redzone opportunities early in the game.

LOL. How many times do I have to say that Kerry Collins is an inadequate QB, he's just simply better than your man-crush. It's a shame that simple strategy is lost on you.

Well suppose what you are saying is true. KC simply isn't that good. I agree. KC isn't good enough to be in 3rd and long situations where the defense can pin their ears back and bring pressure. Of course any team in the history of football knows that you AVOID 3rd and long no matter who your QB is. But say for a minute you are right and I agree.

Now, what do we do about it? Do we put in VY who EVEN MORE SO needs a RB who can pound out consistent yardage and get the team in 3rd and <5. No, I guess that won't work.

In truth letting LW have more carries on 1st and 2nd down may allow us to convert more 3rd downs and keep the ball. When we have the ball our opponent can't put up record offensive stats against our putrid defense. It also keeps our putrid defense more rested so maybe they can get lucky and get a stop.
