great, we still need depth at CB, and now we have another WR that doesn't need to be active on gameday:(

I guess we'll never sign Justin Miller, who can fill in at CB and handle the return duties. At this point, i'm just venting!!

 

I wonder what is wrong with Miller? I always liked him but there has to be a reason he's not here or any team for that matter.

I kinda wish we gave Lendale more carries and let CJ return kicks but I'm sure it's too much of a gamble with the injury risk.

 

players get hurt, sometimes during a home playoff game.

I say get the ball in the best weapon the Titans have 20 times a game, and make 10 of those be PR/KR chances

 

It makes sense but I don't see it happening unless we surprise someone with it during a clutch moment.

 

Good Moves

While watching the last few games last year and the Texan's game this year, we noticed that Craig had lost a 'step' in his kicks. The knuckle wasn't used as much and was not effective when used. The range kept getting shorter and shorter. But, oddly, during warmup, he had excellent range????

The other changes pretty much means that Fisher has come to his senses. This scenerio has happen many times before. He gets there, but always AFTER we slide into a losing streak. He has got to get ahead of the 'curve'.

 

We still need to check out hood and miller

 

Actually Jones is probably as good if not better KR guy than CJ right now so it would be stupid to not use Jones and to risk CJ.

We do need to get CJ the ball more but in the passing game and not on KOs or runs up the middle.

Yes Fisher did drop the ball on this one. I had my doubts about Jones early on and he was hurt some. He did look OK but nothing special in the last two pre-season games. I understand Fisher's reasoning. Jones was basically worthless as a WR and not all that impressive as a KO and PR guy. Why keep him on the roster and activate him for every game because it seems like a waste? Well, Fisher learned the hard way I guess because he assumed someone would step into those roles. At least Ringer didn't fumble when he got hit.

The real dissapointment to me isn't Mouton, although one reason they drafted him was because he could return. It is the fact we have Edison and Hawkins and neither can return punts. I suppose Hawkins could return KOs which he did in college (if you remember DeSean returned punts and made UT look silly on one). If Hawkins could be a reliable punt and kick returner not only would it increase his value at cut time but he could be active every Sunday and we wouldn't have to waste a roster space on another player that is worthless except for being an average returner.

Somehow every other team in the NFL has a few players they can use to return punts and we have nobody. Heck, let Brit have a shot.

Now we see how valuable Carr really was to the team. I'm sure the Titans saw Mouton as another Carr but with better CB skills. Rolling the dice on this one cost us at least one game.
