Fair enough. Who do you think Finnegan will cover? Cotchery isn't a burner but he's very physical and will go across the middle all day. Stuckey isn't as physical but he can fly. Either way, it'll be fun to watch. GO JETS.

No no. Sorry for the confusion. I wasn't knocking Revis so much as I was praising Finny. Like I said, I can't comment on Revis because I haven't seen him play, but I will Sunday.
What you described of Revis above sounds just like Finny. Maybe they're both machines manufactured by the same company.

Stats can be deceiving, especially the ones on a CB's NFL.com player page - because they don't show the most important metrics of all: completion % against and YPA.

From an article breaking down the top 50 CBs last season by that stat:

    http://www.operationsports.com/forums/pro-football/289299-top-50-cbs-nfl.html

Now, this isn't a "best CB" list (although the top guys are there); some mediocre CBs had better numbers than Finnegan last season, but there are reasons for that (like the WRs they matched up against). That said - Finnegan and Revis weren't really on the same statistical planet. Revis gave up 35 receptions for 357 yards (basically, 2 catches for 22 yards per game). Finnegan gave up 44 receptions for 605 yards (basically 3 catches for 38 yards per game). Both are impressive in their own right, but looking at them in comparison, Revis essentially gave up 2/3 the production that Finnegan did - while playing with half the pass rush, and following the opposition's best WR all over the field.

Jets fan here. Cortland Finnegan is a great CB. I would take Revis over Finnegan personally. However, I do think that Finnegan will have a larger impact on the outcome of the game sunday. I just think the Jets are going to throw more than Tennessee, a lot more. Therefore Finnegan and the entire Titans defensive backfield will have more opportunities to make plays and get beat on plays.

We have a good group of real, insightful, and educated fans on here. It's a great community and we always appreciate opposing fans who respectfully lend insight from another perspective.

    As far as the game:
The Jets are probably the hottest team in the NFL right now. Your defense has been playing savagely, and Sanchez has been getting the job done. However, you can't sleep on us. We have a defense too, and even though they didn't show up last week they are absolutely capable of getting the job done. Our offense showed me a lot last week too, and I think they can get the job done if it comes down to it.

Thing about it is this is a must-win scenario for us. Teams simply don't rebound from 0-3, and we're staring that disaster right in the face. We are going to a hostile environment against a tough team that beat us handily last year. This is do or die for the Titans, and they know that. If we don't show up this week then making the playoffs is gonna be a long shot. I'm looking forward to a good game, and dammit an effing 'W' for the first time since December.

Just checking back in and wanted to give some of my post game thoughts. The first quarter obviously couldn't have gone any better for us. The opening drive was excellent and Sanchez really showed his ability to lead the team down the field. The fumble on special teams was a lucky break for us and the ensuing touchdown was a great play action pass. I was impressed with a few things in this game.

    1. I was impressed with the amazing turn around that occurred between the first and second quarters. I was extremely confident in the first quarter and I definitely got knocked down a peg after I saw your defense start to get to Sanchez and your offense make some plays. I thought our defense was a little lackluster compared to previous weeks until the 4th quarter but I credit that to your running game which made us be a little more hesitant on our pass rush.

    2. Sanchez played a great game today behind an offensive line which didn't perform as well as I would have hoped. However, that is a credit to your defensive line which was able to consistently present pressure despite the fact that you regularly rush 4. Sanchez has an uncanny ability to move around in the pocket and outside of it to find an open receiver and I thought this was a great effort by him playing against the best defense he's faced.

    3. Our 4th quarter defense was excellent and David Harris really stepped up his game with the sack and interception which really hurt 2 of your drives. We finally saw Vernon Gholston provide some pressure on the David Harris interception (we have been waiting for any sign of life from him for a while now-- Gholston) which I am very happy about.

    4. Overall, I don't want to rub anything in because I would have been back here whether we won or lost and I value intelligence NFL conversation. I think you guys have a good chance of coming back from the 0-3 start despite the fact that it will be tough. I wish you guys luck in the rest of the season.

Jets arent good on offense, titans proved today when they played OK D that Sanchez is easily to shut down. We made Matt Shaub look like a pro bowler also.

I'd like to see the Jets play the Ravens just so you can see the real jets offense.

So, you can only see your real offense against the best team in the league? That makes little to no sense. Both teams had to deal with the rain so that shouldn't even be a factor. I know we don't have a great offense but it is good enough to make us a good team because of our defense.

    Slight disagreement...

Revis did not bump Moss most of the time...he backed off him which is what really frustrated Moss because he couldn't get by him and when Moss broke off patterns, Brady was out of sink or Revis drove on it and knocked it away. Revis gave Moss the slant. As Revis said...you gotta live with that.

Revis is one of the best CB's in the NFL...but he doesn't bump guys that much.
